Cheers Mog, it needs a service anyway, any idea how much we should pay for a diaphragm change asuming it is just that that needs changing and not the whole valve? :)

A diaphragm costs about a pound, but can take up to 2 hours to change if the whole valve needs to come out. So sometimes if the valve has to come out it is sensible just to change the whole unit, a new valve will cost around £80 depending on Boiler make and model.
