View Full Version : Anybody doing another group buys on Brake Pads ScoobyDoo555 21 June 2004, 19:00 As topic sez - I'm in the market for some pads pretty soon. Any thoughts? Dan speedydaveb 21 June 2004, 21:09 Well I definately need some soon, not black diamond though! After my last group buy came to an abrupt end think I'll try someone else. Not EBC green stuff also as I have heard bad reports on them. Was thinking of Mintex 1144's, though the chap I was arranging my last group buy (Kwik Bitz) with doesn't have an account with Mintex at the mo and would need to get an order for £2k before they would start dealing with him - that's a lot of disks and pads! Let me know whoever organises this. WallacePerformance 21 June 2004, 21:31 I'm keen to organise this if you guys let me? Is it the M1155 or the Ferodo DS2500's you lot prefer?? Gavin stockcar 21 June 2004, 21:53 we specialize in various brake components (main distributors for Pagid Competition, Mintex Racing & Ferodo Competition)..................have run various "buys" in the past for this and other forums, but generally have some "deals" available at all times for Scoobynet peeps, etc....................... alyn - asperformance.com 7 Foot 21 June 2004, 22:18 I'm in the market for some pads for both front and rear. Was possibly going to go for the new EBC Ceramic reds (E388 compound I think). I've got a MY00 turbo - what prices are we looking at? ScoobyDoo555 21 June 2004, 23:02 I've been offered some APEC ones, but what others are on offer - what are the usuals? Dan :) why do I get the impression I'm organising a group buy :D 7 Foot 22 June 2004, 07:07 The Apec pads are only really OE equivalents. I've been running TSL's group N+ set up, which use DS2500s, for the last 18 months so don't want to go back to OE performance. Personally I am only up for DS2500s again, the new EBC Ceramic reds or possibly Pagids. ScoobyDoo555 22 June 2004, 17:54 well, let me have some opinions on who wants to have what - I know nowrt about pads, so I'll go with the flow :) Dan 7 Foot 22 June 2004, 22:08 EBC Ceramic reds (E388 compound) Front and rear for my MY00 Turbo WallacePerformance 23 June 2004, 13:41 EBC Ceramic reds (E388 compound) Front and rear for my MY00 Turbo Probably about £90 for the front and about £55 for the rear depending on rear caliper Gav 7 Foot 23 June 2004, 15:28 Gav Is that price for a group buy or a price you can normally offer? Reason I ask is that this thread isn't moving fast and I need some soon. PM me if you would prefer. What do you need to know re. the rear caliper? ScoobyDoo555 23 June 2004, 16:46 I'm not gonna bother organising a group buy, as the "group" is only about 3 people. Kinda pointless. I suggest that the prices that have been put forward are good, so feel free to sort it yourselves. Dan |
