Hi there,
I'm not really up on cameras, but my mum has a Canon EOS 5000 film camera with 2 lenses, both are Canon. One has Canon Zoom Lens EF 8-200m 1:4.5-5.6 II written around it, the other has Canon 38-76mm 0.58m/1.8ft (with a macro piccie next to it)
Since she got her Canon Ixus 430 she is so impressed, she wants to sell the EOS.
I've looked on ebay and similiar packages have sold for £80+, is that about right, or should I sell the lenses and camera seperately?
Is there any where else I should consider selling it? could those lense be used with a Canon Digital SLR?
cheers,
greg

I'd say ebay is your best bet, a camera shop would give you such a poor value it would be better keeping.
And yes, those canon lenses use the EF mount which means they will work with ANY EOS SLR, be it film or digital.
Hope this helps.

Post some pic's on here, u never know someone might be intrested in it :)
i mean in the for sale bit
Aye those lenses will fit all recent Canon SLRs no problem, including the digital camera bodies.
You might try going to a camera shop, and seeing what they'll give you for it. Some places - Jessops etc, and all the smaller ones, do buy used stuff as well. To put it into perspective, I recently bought a second hand Sigma 80-300mm lens of a similar level, for 80 quid.
Could try trading it in for some accessories etc for the new one?
Cash converters incidently, tend to have a fairly large stock of camera equipment. If you know what you're after, it could perhaps be a good place to buy from, as from what I've seen, I'm sure they don't know what they're selling;), or what it's worth. I doubt you'd get a good price there though, but it could be worth a try.
Camera shops, or sell it in the back of a camera mag (Practical Photography / Outdoor photography etc), is probably the best idea:)
Try Jessops, they will buy it, but 35mm film cameras are not too popular these days, but the lenses are good.........
Jessops weren't interested, so it's gone onto ebay. I seriously thought of buying it off my Mum and getting an digital SLR body, until I saw the price of them!!

Did you look at some on E-bay as well? If you could be bothered trawling through the 5000-odd digitals on there, you might find one that'd fit those lenses, but only at a price. You'd only be limited to Canon digital SLRs as well - and the cheapest new one's about 700 quid:(.
Good luck with the sale though:)
