Cool

Due to the pathetic lights on my MY00 scoob I'm think of upgrading. Any ideas on which would be the best way to go ie PIAA drive lamps instead of the fog lamps or a twin headlight conversion or even both. Would the altenator take it. Any comments please

Replacing the fogs with driving lights turns night into day, but... They are set very low on the car and on undulating roads thay can cast deep, black shadows. And they only work on main beam, of course. Switching to dipped is like turning day into night!

Twin headlights are a better bet, in my view, as each light is custom designed for optimum dipped beam or main beam performance. Dipped beam performance is said to be very good and on main beam you've got all four working.

I've not fitted twin headlights yet (spent the money on new tyres) but they're next on the list.

Question

I have the PIAA lamps on my RB5 and they are brilliant.

The problem is, that you get used to the amount of light they provide and when going back to dipped beam for something coming the other way the normal lights are useless - often requiring backing off due to being unable to see the road ahead!!

Anyone got any experience of upgrading the dipped beam performance?
