Thanks for the unhelpful comments but I have already been offered £8.5k as a straight buy from a subaru dealer.
Negative comments such as these do not help anyone as they only serve to devalue the cars that these websites are designed for! Without looking at the car it is impossible to accurately value it and if you look in the Auto Trader you will find that you will not get much for £8k unless you are looking for a high miler!

Welcome to the Scoobynet for sale forum
I suppose it depends how much money you have and what you are looking for! If you want to spend £7-8k on one with high miles that will end up probably costing you money than fair enough. Personally I would rather pay a little extra and buy one with a good spec that has low miles and has been well looked after. The chance of large bills are then vastly reduced. At the end of the day you make your choice and pay your money.
What I object to though is the tone of the reply stating that I am 'joking'! If someone wants to buy the car then like you say it is worth what someone wants to pay for it, but replies like that do nothing to help anyone. At the end of the day it is not only my car that is being devalued by comments like that but imprezas as a whole, so who loses out then?
I appreciate that not everyone wants to spend £9-10k on a uk classic and I don't wish to get into anymore debates on here about car values. I am open to sensible offers but if I don't sell it then I have no problems about keeping it. The car is immaculate and very low miles so whoever does buy it will get a good one but they need to see it first before judging. Like I said before, subaru main dealer has offered me £8.5k so it can't be that over priced!
Cheers

Bubba po 08 May 2004, 14:51 I'm sorry about the tone of my reply, O', but I stand by what I say. I would expect a medium mileage 'X' Plater, bought privately, for 10-11k. If I were you, I would take the dealer's generous offer. My comments were to save you weeks of frustration getting no offers. Best of luck. :)
no probs mate. The thing is that there seems to be such a wide variation of pricing on these cars that like I say you make your choice and pay want you want to pay to get that car. I have been down to my local subaru dealer today and looked at a Y plate with 12k that was up for £15.5k and it wasn't in the condition of mine. They also had a T plate with 61K up for more than mine is and it was pretty tatty.
At the end of the day mine is extremely clean, even the dealer stated that he would rather buy mine than any of the stock he had, so I think it is worth £9995 ish. If no one wants it then I will keep it, but I will not be letting it go for silly money as I have no need to.
No offence to anyone but can we end the debate on pricing now please?
I have stated the price and the reasons for it so if anyone is interested lets let them make up their own minds. I'm not trying to rip anyone off, the choice is theirs!
Cheers

Any pics?
Can see where the comments on price come from though when there are threads on the same page like this... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=324196

Cheeky question - can you let me know (via pm if you want) which dealer gave you the offer?
Reason I ask is that I'm trying to sell a MY00 and may pop down to see how much they'd give me for it....
Cheers

Chris L 10 May 2004, 21:50 Guys - whatever your feelings on O's price - it is HIS thread and he is entitled to put the car up for whatever price he wants. It is his decision. Please keep negative comments off the threads as per the forum rules.

Nowucme 16 May 2004, 20:36 O, you got a number for EMG - couldn't find em when I looked up on the internet??
Try phoning directory enquiries and asking for Exeter Motor Group. They have only recently taken over the subaru dealership and are predominantely MG/Rover.
