It's going to be my first time at the rally this year, been wanting to go for years not been able.

I want to camp in the forest somewhere but got no idea where to start!!, can anyone suggest what stages and where to camp would be best?!

Thanks in advance

rhondda is very well attended. the overnight car parks are large, but get there close too opening time to aviod excessive queing. Basically every stage has overnight car parks so its down to you where you go. See "Staying in cardiff" thread. If you need any more info, will be glad to help.(maybe try marshalling, you do get to drive the stage before the rally cars, and a nice Hi-vis vest) :)

When we went last year there seemed to be a tonne of ppl at pretty much every morning stage when we got there... with camper vans, bbqs etc... i think most stages are prob OK to camp out at...

i would`nt say the carparks had camping facilitys but 99% of people sleep in the cars and make a hell of a night out of it to boot
ive been doing it since 87 and loved every year doing it

I`d second that, i`ve been going for about 5 years and the atmosphere when ure camping out is great! Just get a really good sleeping bag and a good stove! Other usefull things i found were,

Bib and brace and wellies.

Ground sheet to lash up to make a make shift dry cooking area.

Spade (fold up variety) for those essencial trips into the woods to answer calls to nature.

Plenty of water containers as there is no water supplies in the forest.

I made up a 12V battery type thingy to run a light and stuff off, really usefull, just stow it safely in ure boot.

And plenty of warm clothes!

Good luck, u will love it!

Cheers, anthony.
