Hi Terryb

Just a few quick questions

1. Will the TEK3 remap be visible to Subaru as i have a MY04 WRX wagon and for obvious warranty reasons i don't want them knowing I've had a remap.

2. Will the price be different as i don't think you have 10 people yet

3. How will i know if I've got a 3-port solenoid fitted anyway

Sorry for all the questions but if everything is OK count be in

(this is also on SIDC forum)

I'm interested in this, but could you find out off Bob if there would be any difference in cost as I've already had mine remapped ages ago by John Banks, and am reliably informed that I still have a licence left, and will he do it without the 3 port?
Jim
Just to add full spec is:
ported headers
uppipe
full decat
VF23 (ported exhaust housing)
Walbro pump
FSE fuel reg
K&N replacement element

LEAD FOOT :D:D

Jim

YHPM - what model car is yours??

Hi just a couple of questions about the group buy, where and when is Bob doing the mapping? When will payment be required? Also does it include fitting the boost solenoid? What is the total price all in please? Car is a MY99 Type R STI.

Thanks in advance

Let's bring this thread back to life as we will be getting the remaps done from next weekend - I'm in 1st next Saturday morning - looking forward to it...

Had my uprated fuel Pp (Walbro 255lt/hr) and FSE 1:1 Fuel Pressure regulator fitted along with a Green Panel filter and a knocklink too (Oh and I fitted an STI 8 steering wheel - but that's nowt to do with the remap)

I'll post my comments on this thread after the remap - mine is a P1 decatted with the above mods and soon to be Tek3'd .... :)

Cheers

Terry,

Who did you get your FSE from, and who fitted it ?

Is it a plug and play device or does it require setting up ?

FSE - How difficult are these to fit on the newage cars?

Where is the OE one located anyway? I would like to change this too before remap.

Mark.

I got the pump and FSE from Mark at Lateral Performance - it's advertised on Scoobyshop - near the bottom of the page - £195 for the pair including a presure guage and delivery - and he has them in stock but he doesn't accept card payment - well packaged and prompt delivery - also a knowledgeable bloke who will give you advice when speaking to him.

The fitting of the FSE was a complete Tw@t to do - took far longer than it should have due to difficulty in removing the lower securing screw for the original regulator. (for some bizarre reason Subaru decided to use cross headed screws rather than hexagonal headed bolts - it's very difficult to get to and you can easily chew up the slots - as we did. Someone else on here mentioned that they had to remove the turbo - luckily we didn't have to do that.

Have a look at http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=223615 for a guide to fitting it - this is what I used.

Points of note - make the job easier for yourself by creating plenty of room - remove strut brace/ intercooler - it's easy enough and the turbo heat shield. Also I'd start by trying to remove the old regulator before you fit the new one - just in case you can't get it off. Use a ratchet/ cross-head drive and put plenty of pressure onto the screw head - or it won't turn. You can tap it lightly with a hammer - but the regulator is attached to the fuel rail that is attached to the injectors - so I wouldn't hit it too hard.

The original regulator is replaced with an adaptor and the FSE is secured at the other side of the intercooler. Another problem here is that the fuel hose that connects to the original regulator isn't quite long enough to fit the new adaptor - this caused a real pain as it is difficult to get access to the other end of the fuel pipe - but we did it and fitted a new length of pipe - cut a section off the fuel pipe supplied with the kit.

When refitting the adaptor use small bolts instead of the stupid screws - I don't know what size they are.

Bob Rawle has recommended that you set the FSE to 2.6 bar at hot idle.

The fuel pump is a doddle to fit - mine is a P1 and I removed the rear seat for ease of access - it is located under the boot carpet on the drivers side behind the rear seat.

I hope this helps - I'm sure it'll be worth it.
