The SIDC are pleased to announce the they will be in attendance at the very first JAP SHOW @ Santa Pod. Jap show (http://www.japshow.com/)
Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th June 2004
Admission (On the Gate) –Adult
£12 Saturday
£12 Sunday
£25 Weekend (includes camping)
Advanced Tickets can be purchased direct through Santa Pod - £9 Saturday £9 Sunday £20 weekend. Subject to booking fee. Tel No. 01234 782828 or online via JAP Show Tickets (http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/cgi/asp_events/venue_events.asp?vaxname=uk1&venuenum=2123)
RWYB - £12 for 3 runs down the strip Remember all cars need to be road legal with MOT and Driving Licence (Both need to be brought with you)
And there is a twist to this tale, Santa Pod have adjusted the rules to accommodate us Subaru’s.
“New Rules”
The new classes are as follows:
A Nissan/Datsun
B Toyota/Lexus
C Honda/Acura
D Mitsubishi/Proton
E Subaru
F Mazda
G Suzuki/Daihatsu/Isuzu
X All other vehicles and non-road legal
No prizes will be made available for category X, and please note that no track time will be made available for motorcycles.
Due to the ever-increasing levels of competitiveness in Run What Ya Brung competitions at Santa Pod, new guidelines have been introduced that show acceptable modifications. All Run What Ya Brung competitions are designed to cater mainly for road-legal cars. However, allowances have been made for some popular modifications that would not normally be deemed road-legal. Although some people say nitrous oxide is cheating in a road car, we say it’s fun, so if you’ve got it, flaunt it!
Modifications from “road-legal” that are acceptable:
• Removal of headlight to improve air induction
• Nitrous oxide injection is permitted
• Removal of wing mirrors, number plates and windscreen wipers is also acceptable
Important:
• Your car must have DOT approved tyres with acceptable levels of tread!
• Apart from the above modifications, your car must be MOT-worthy.
• All drivers must produce a valid driving licence to sign-on.
Basically it is on the same basis as the Japanese show we attended in October 2003 and on a similar concept as the FastShow.
The aim of the day is to see which jap car (marque) is the Fastest.
And now that they have altered the categories we will see who has the Fastest Scooby on the day.
Along with the RWYB there are :
v Car Club Stands
v Trade stands – Specialising in Japanese Styling, Performance and Tuning
v Show & Shine competition- classes to be announced by Santa Pod (Not SIDC)
v Sideshows & Fun Fair- details to be announced
v Demo Vehicles- jet cars! Details to be announced
v Saturday night entertainment – “Disco” in the “Fuellers” Bar and video and bar games in a “Sports-themed” bar
So it's pay on the day or book your own advanced tickets now.
We have secured a Club Stand area with a provision of 40 spaces
But as with the Japanese Show and the Fastshow, Santa Pod are issuing out Car Passes.
It is a weekend event, and camping is available, therefore I would like to encourage as many people as possible to camp over on the Saturday night.
We are able to set up camp, within our club display area, (So we’re nice and close to our cars) it will be on grass.
You will require a Santa Pod car pass to gain access onto the SIDC Club Stand, without one you won't get onto the stand. (Some people found this out last year)
In order to save money (Putting it through the SIDC shop costs more than you think) could I ask everyone who would like to attend to send a SAE (Stamped Addressed Envelope) with your name and Address written on it to:
JAPS Show
SIDC
PO Box 5673
Southend on Sea

Please also enclose your full name, username, Car registration Number, and the day or days your wish to attend. (This may delay your car pass if not enclosed)
Deadline to get SAE's to me is 14th June.
Please post below if you intend to go, so I can keep an eye on the numbers attending. (Please show the days attending)
……..and remember those SAE’s
Note: To those that sent me an SAE for the Fastshow. I will use these, but you need to inform me
