unless you are the main driver of the car, in which case it will be insurance fraud.....

What makes you the main driver?

If my wife did more miles in my car (as I work from home) and she is named driver, is that insurance fraud? It is my car, I pay for the car and everything associated with it (inc the damn petrol!).

Why can't a named driver do more miles than the main insured person?

If you tell the Insurance company upfront that you will be the main driver, they will rate the quote on this factor, applying a loading accordingley.

the insurance on my car is in my dads name. i'm down as the main named driver. we told them of this from the outset and they were fine with it.

even rang them up the other day to check if it was ok to do this because so many people kept saying it was fraud and my policy would be void.

As You told them upfront that you would be the main driver, it's deffo not fraud.
