Hi Paul,

Try Adrian Flux, they dont mind mods.

Not the best for everyone but maybe worth giving them a go!

Neil.

L&V mind if you've changed the engine capacity!

Have you tried Greenlight?

Oh, I got in there before they changed their minds then! I only had to advise of the initial mod, then I was told no other notifications were required for any further engine mods. We shall see.

Bummer :(

I've just renewed with L&V last month, had the discussion about mods, no problem ,they said. Bit worried about this sudden turnaround, especially as they don't seem to provide anything in writing to confirm their acceptance of the mods. Is this normal procedure with them? Anybody heard of them rejecting a claim, based on a disagreement over mods a policyholder thought had been accepted? Bloody paranoid now!!!!

I questioned the "not listing mods" on the policy document bit and was told they don't have the facility to print it. Crap software probably. Each time I have modified the car, I have notified them before AND after, took details of who I spoke to and the time. If this keeps up I might even record the conversation.

Just what sort of mods are you guys having done to cause a knee jerk reaction from L&V? I have a MY03 STI8 with prodrive panel filter kit fitted by the dealer, centre cat removed and steelback H&S 5" exhaust pipework + 18" PFF7 Gold alloys (dealer fitted) and full wrc decals.

If the sh*t hits the fan I might have to buy an evo ... wtf?

Think I might have to start being a bit more careful from now on. When I took out my policy with them, they weren't even interested in discussing the mods, other than " you haven't changed the engine, have you? " For what it's worth, the mods on mine ( MY00 ) are pretty tame (exhaust, panel filter, sti5 i/c, tek3 , etc ) . They did suggest, iirc, that, should a total loss claim arise, I would be reimbursed for the mods, providing I could provide reciepts. Difficult to prove the tek3 though, no receipt for that! :(
