16vmarc 25 April 2004, 13:59 Keep it up north imo micared 25 April 2004, 16:03 Seen the result? Fcuk off Chelsea, especially that to55er Huth. Eddoe 25 April 2004, 16:10 Notice the way that huth went up front after the stamping incident!!!! (staying out of shearers way perhaps??) Come on newcastle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) micared 25 April 2004, 16:23 Yeah, saw that, think Huth'll be brave enough to stay for a drink in the toon tonight? richiewong 25 April 2004, 19:13 Dodgy ref's at SJP yet again:rolleyes: Good game and one of the best atmospheres in ages, also the result gave the Arsenal the title:rolleyes: FASTER MIKE!! 25 April 2004, 19:28 yea echo the above. good game:D another goal would have been nice(to take us above the pool:rolleyes: ) ambrose needs to work on his crossing, still had a good game. mike:) Bravo2zero_sps 25 April 2004, 21:12 As a Gooner I would like to thank Newcastle United for beating Chelski today and allowing us to win the Premiership at that scummy ground White Hart Lane :D grovesy 26 April 2004, 09:17 Again cracking performance and cracking atmos... could have easy been 5 to the Toon and the ref was shocking..how many hand balls. But it was a class day sitting in sunny SJP Walwal 26 April 2004, 13:22 yea echo the above. good game:D another goal would have been nice(to take us above the pool:rolleyes: ) ambrose needs to work on his crossing, still had a good game. mike:) Got to agree there Mike. I've slated him on here in the past, but thought he did ok yesterday. Still can't beat a bloke tho. A great win, Chelsea are a very good team, and what a goal by the main man to decide it!!! Andy. FASTER MIKE!! 26 April 2004, 21:52 is'nt Huth getting done for kicking big al in the nuts:eek: dirty barsteward:mad: mike:) Dark Blue Mark 26 April 2004, 21:53 Ambrose is sometimes quite good, but mostly damn frustrating. A bit like Robert, but at least he scores quite a few. Ameobe is looking very posotive though. As for Alan, he's just an absolute legend, and not replaceable in my book. Not sure what the plan on the transfer market is? Probably spending it on a new pitch :D Come on the TOON! MB Dark Blue Mark 26 April 2004, 21:55 Got to add, that was really dis-respectful to kick Al like that. Hopefully they'll take a look at it. True what they say though, its a very rare site to see him stay down. MB FASTER MIKE!! 26 April 2004, 23:16 to replace big al, fat freds gonna have to dig very deep into his pockets;) they'll need to spend in the region of £15-£20 million, who? i don't know but thats the sort of money it'll take. as for larson he's a class player but i think he's a little old for a replacement for al. and i hope they don't buy smith as he not a prolific goal scorer, good player but not the answer. kilvert maybe. out of the 3 mentioned(sp) he's probabaly the best not sure if he's the answer. mike:) grovesy 27 April 2004, 10:43 I would have forrcel (sp) from birmingham/chelsea he's world class that lad. FASTER MIKE!! 27 April 2004, 22:06 to replace a big name you need a big name. simple mike cheddar bob 04 May 2004, 13:12 The nearest we'll get to another Alan Shearer is James Beattie imo Dark Blue Mark 04 May 2004, 21:54  Beattie?! If you mean homegrown England replacemet, there's got to be better than Beattie. Quite different playing styles. If you mean foreign club replacement, there's got to be someone like Ronald we can steal ;) MB richiewong 04 May 2004, 22:03 We could always go for Alan Smith, I think he'll do well at a Big Club;):D then at Leeds. FASTER MIKE!! 04 May 2004, 22:26 richie NO!!!! mike pslewis 04 May 2004, 22:46 Newcastle will have to await for the players BORO don't want - remember - BORO are in Europe next season, Newcastle aren't! :D Pete Dark Blue Mark 04 May 2004, 22:51 Richie, I agree, he's an annoying twat, but good potential. Just cant imagine the bother with Alan Smith, Craig Bellamy, Dyer, Woodgate and Bowyer, all in the same team, without the main man to keep them all in line... They're all a bit lairy :D Good to see Woodgate calmed down though, and playing outstanding... grovesy 05 May 2004, 15:57 Smith wont score 30 goals per season.... FACT so he aint the replcament Peanuts 05 May 2004, 17:03 wouldnt it be ironic if Lomano Lua Lua had scored the goal that denied the Toon a euro spot? think we've a good chance of keeping him down here now. cheddar bob 05 May 2004, 18:41 >Dark Blue Mark >'Beattie?! >If you mean homegrown England replacemet, there's got to be better than Beattie. Quite different playing styles. If you mean foreign club replacement, there's got to be someone like Ronald we can steal' Name 1 more player that's more Shearer-like than James Beattie, doesn't even have to be english player either? Shearer has been Beattie's role-model ever since he cleaned his boots at Southampton. We will never be able to replace Shearer but that's the closest we would get. Alan Smith or even Patrick Kluivert are not natural goalscorers and will not get you 20 plus goals every season, however players like Gudjohnnson, Forsell, Kezman, Vieri, Drogba, Ronaldo, Beattie, Morietes, Raul, Trezeguet, even attacking midfielders like Ronaldinho, Zidane, Figo or Totti will but what's the chances of some of those names even considering joining us? If any of those last four i mentioned signed for us i'd be happy with just Bellamy/Ameobi/Chopra up front with Offiong as backup, would certainly soften the blow of losing such an important player as Alan ;). FASTER MIKE!! 05 May 2004, 18:53 pete newcastle are STILL in europe;) and more than likely they WILL be in europe next season:p the one player that i think is similar to shearer is viduka but he's a bit lazy. think Gudjohnnson has been linked to newcastle and i think he would be a good replacement mike:) richiewong 06 May 2004, 22:15 :( Strong liqueur eases the pain:( But we're still above the Smoggies, every cloud:D FASTER MIKE!! 06 May 2004, 22:22 gutted:( Walwal 06 May 2004, 22:46 Losing Woody, Dyer, Jenas and Bellamy was always going to be a massive blow to take, especially considering Viana gets a starting place. Can somebody please tell me what he contributes to the team?? The woeful attempt at a header on halfway just before the first goal just shows what he's all about. I'm totally in bits about going out tonight, all be it to a very good side. After all, Barthez didn't have a meaningful save to make all night. But as stated above, who wants to come and play for us?? The only hope we have of attracting any quality players is to be in the CL, but that looks less likely after the poor defeat to a relegation threatened team last weekend. Don't fancy going to Liverpool an the last day needing a win. Andy. pslewis 06 May 2004, 23:32 AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW dear me, out of Europe and NOTHING to show for yet another season ..... however, what you COULD do is . . . . . . . . . . . . pop down the road to the Riverside and see the shiny Silverware in Boro's Trophy Cabinet ...... whilst yours sits empty gathering dust and cobwebs! . . . . . HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA Boro's in Europe and the Has-Beens aren't! TeeHee TeeHee Pete Walwal 06 May 2004, 23:45 I suppose a bit of gloating is understandable. 128 years is a long time to keep it bottled up.... Andy |
