S-02's or Toyo Proxes t-1's
I don't drive like a buffoon, but like the rest of you, i do like a quick play on empty roads and roundabouts.
I get me new 17" x 7 wheels tommorra and need to make a choice on tyres.
I was all geared up for the toyo's cos ov the reviews and the way that the v-tread whilst not only functional looks fantastically agressive, then me boss turns up in his new 996 Carrera sporting S-02's and i figure, well if its good enuff for one ov those, it's gotta be good for da scoob. This coupled with the reviews on the bbs has got me thinking
Please don't say it's down to me as I have Zero experience in either of these tyres.
Any constructive points for me to consider posted by owners who are currently living with these tyres?
I would like to know things like:
Road Noise
Wear
Grip wet/Dry
Punctures (are they too soft)
Cost
Availiability
Cheers Chaps

Hi,
I've driven on 215/40/17 S02s, and I'm now with the Toyos.
Road Noise: S02s are far quieter on heavy cornering.
Wear: can't say, but S02s do wear fast!
Grip: Toyos are great on the wet and just ok on the dry; S02s are superb on the dry and good on wet.
Punctures: I guess they're all liable to be punctured.
Cost & availability: I can check it out, if you want to order them from Portugal
As a conclusion, I'd say IMHO that S02s are better tires (I wish I has sticked with them, but there were none available at the time and a blown tire made me change all 4!).
By the way, the S03s are supposed to be even better than the S02s... you might want to check them out also.
Cheers,
António Correia Jr.
