Also, Sti555 and I were considering a trip to the ring. Had a nosey around on the web this afternoon and found the following site, which seems to have all of the answers (had a quick look, but not had too much time to read it yet):

http://www.nurburgring.org.uk

On it they list an approx cost for a trip:

Channel crossing: Varies, but say typically £120
Petrol en-route: Typically 2 x £50 = £100
Petrol there: Say a maximum of £75
Bed-and-breakfast per person: £20 per night x 2 = £40
Food: 2 x dinner, 2 x lunch, food en-route, beer = £80
Ring tickets: Say 2-3 x 12-lap tickets for around £250
Total = approx £650

Doesn't seem too bad... but not entirely conviced by £100 for petrol!!

It also does not list the £1000 for new brakes and tyres on your return!!

Some mates just got back from the ring on Monday and absolutely loved it, already thinking about another trip later in the year or early next year. It took them 9 hours to get there (but dont know what speed that was at). It all came to about £500 which was for the ferry, fuel, ring laps, hotel and food. Apart from Lloydy who got 2 blowouts near London on way home and also Ste whose oil breather pi$$ed oil onto his n/s wheels at 100 while on the ring but only got a dink in his rear wing off the armco.

Theres a few photos in the gallery and a couple of threads in their forum on www.streetrace.co.uk also you could try www.nurburgring.de and www.ridethering.co.uk
