Unfortunately this is not something we can do. It is physically possible from a technical point of view, but would create havoc and confusion for people reading threads and not knowing who this person is they've never seen before but has 400 posts.

On the join date thing. We need to get round to this, it has just been a lower priority due to everything else we've had to do over the last few weeks.
