I have never owned a car with ABS before so I don't know if its meant to do this, what do you lot think?

When approaching a junction and brakeing quite hard, if I then hit a pot hole etc the abs cuts in and the pedal starts to 'vibrate' but the brakes stop working! This then continues until I take my foot of the pedal and reapply the brakes... scary

Thumbs down

Hi Ed,

Yes, I've had that too.

Tends to happen on loose surfaces as well, like when a road has just been gritted.
Not just an Impreza thing. Happened on my old 944 Turbo too.

That sounds like it! Doesn't look like a fault then, just a 'charchteristic'
