I'm thinking about getting some 17" alloys for my DBM MY00, but want some that are not too fiddly to wash and wax. I find the standard wheels fiddly enough, so wheels like the MIMs, or some of the Speedlines, for example, are definitely off the menu!

I am considering gold wheels (but would want more of a bronze gold rather than goldie gold) or anthracite (but not too dark).

Any suggestions, please?

I have Speedline GT1's on my 00MY, they are easy to clean by reaching thro' the spokes, take a look on their website

 

I'm afraid that both of the wheels so far suggested are too fussy for me. The superleggera's look smart, but I don't have the patience to wax that number of spokes!

The sort of wheel I'm after would be like the 98/99 5-spoke Subaru wheel that came with the Terzo. If they did that in a 17", then I'd take it.

I was down at Scoobysport a few months back, and they had a gold wheel in that looked really smart. It was a darker gold than the MIM, and may have been the KN motorsport, although if it was, then the picture on Scoobysport's website doesn't do it justice by a long way!

Has anyone on here fitted the KN's, and if so do you have a picture of your car which shows off the wheels? (Scoobysport is a fair old drive for me, and I don't want to go down there just to look at the wheel!).

The Prodrive PD7 wheels are very easy to clean.

What about the OZ superlegger 17" they are only 7kg each, you can notice the pull when driving. I got a set for 940 inc vat and toyo tyres 215 40 17 from Pure Carma in SouthEnd speak to Chris and tell him Moe sent you.

The wheel hides the brake dust well the colour is anthracite, I have them on a my car Black scooby.

PD-7s are very easy to clean.

 

I think the KOSI 5 spokes in gunmetal grey look the business on a DBM. They are not that easy to come by and for that reason are very rare.

Raceline RL7s? As the name suggests, they are are 7 spoke design - pretty easy to clean. Got these on mine and I would recommend them (very strong as well which is a bonus)

If the Raceline wheels is anything like Compomotive Wheels they weight about a ton each. But you can drive them after a puncture without them coming apart as compomotive have a run-flat garantee that says that the wheel will not break if run after a puncture.. or somthing like that.

Compomotive MOs are great. Easy to clean, great looks, very strong and not too heavy as they are forged.

David, I agree that the Compomotive MO's are a great looking wheel, but I thought that they were a cast wheel and not a forged one?

 

Pete, I was told that they were forged when I bought them. They are certainly pretty strong, if they were cast, I would have expected them to be a little heavier? Can't say 100% though.
