Would be interested in any info on this, was thinking of booking through Rally Travel. Would also consider tagging on to a convoy.

What is the benifit of using Rally Travel when going to Germany? Surly you just get yourself to Trier and enjoy?

there`s 3 of us going from thursday to monday
we got digs for 130 euros a night (3 bed suite ) and the seacat for £114 return
and booked the tickets yesterday (50 euros each) same as last year so for us it works out cheaper than going to rally gb
also doing cyprus this year managed to get a package holiday for 4 of us at £200 each
and catalunya with rally travel

Rally Travel have a number of hotels pre booked. They did things such as laying on early breakfasts etc for spectators. They also posted up all the latest news and results in the evening. It was just a nice easy way of doing it. RT book everything for you and their prices are very competative. They also sort the passes etc. It's upto you - Trier is easy to get to, but bear in mind that you will be in the tourist season (and it is a popular place) so hotel rooms will be at a premium.

So how many people are actually going to Germany then? I am getting passes from Prodrive for about 16 people so far if anybody is definately interested in a pass from prodrive then can you PM me and tell me how many you want and wether you want them for Saturday or Sunday, Friday is a no go as Pirelli are going on mass and PD have to look after them.

Me and me mate are goin to sample the delights of Germany this year.... hope its gonna be fookin hot! Rallying, bbqs beer and german late night tele! wkd! lol.

We're goin with Rally travel, booked it up a while ago... driving over via eurotunnel, and then missioning it up through France and belgium. Should be great fun!

Only thing about RTs package is that it doesnt include tickets, although it does say on the website they are 50 euros (result!) plus 9 p&p... which includes everything bar the superspecials.... sounds okay to me!

:) Just booked into the NH Hotel Trier (2 of us) - ordered my tickets through Rally Travel as well as suggested and saved 9 Euros (£5!) each. Will that buy me a bratwurst and a beer or is it pricey out there?

 Superspecial is not included in the weekend ticket this year - is it anygood and worth seeing? Looked a bit tame on the telly last year. Comments please!

You'll probably get change from €5 never mind £5 for bratwurst & beer! Its pretty cheap in Germany relative to the UK and they won't take the opportunity of the rally to rip you off more.

The superspecial is not great really. Theres not really any good places to spectate and you need to get there very early to get anything half decent.

From the past two years, there was no real control to get to the superspecial, so no need to include it in the ticket.

I went to the Sat Super Special in Germany last year, I was a little late, had to park miles & miles away and it p1ssed with rain the whole time..... I couldn't see very much either. I'd say if you're bothering to go to the SS, get there pronto!

And yes, they did check my ticket.

IMHO, compared to the Head-to-Head super-specials at other WRC events, the German one is Pants!

But you can get saussages and beer!

17 May 2004, 09:38
Well i can get sausages and beer at the hotel! and sleep it off too!! so i'm not sure we will bother.... hmmm
