Keigo 03 April 2004, 14:07 I posted in the brakes section, but doesn't seem to be getting much hit, so I'll try here as well..
I remember there was a Bremo kit group buy last year sometime. I'm thinking about starting another one, and would like to find out more details on it, i.e. the supplier, the prices, numbers involved, exactly what was in the kit, etc. And if anyone else would be interested. If there are enough numbers, I'll start a fresh thread in the group buy section.
TonyBurns 03 April 2004, 14:07 Do you mean Brembo?
Tony:D
Keigo 03 April 2004, 14:57 oops. And I can't even edit the posts anymore!!!
RB5_IOM 04 April 2004, 12:35 Might be interested if the price is right.
Keigo 04 April 2004, 12:40 That's why I need fo find out the details of the last group buy. Anyone?
rooky1 04 April 2004, 13:18 Hi keigo I was in the Brembo group buy last year.
we got them from RED DOT (TEL:-020 8888 2354),
it was the 320mm kit including calipers, discs, pads and hoses.
the price we paid was £750 plus £7.50p&p.
I think we needed a minimum of ten people but it ended up at about 30. they also done a good deal with brake fluid when we ordered. the RRP of the kit was £1286.00 so you can see we made a heck of a saving.
I changed my 02 brakes for these and it made an incredible difference. well worth the money.
As for fitting, power station done us a deal.hope this helps. good luck with the group buy. if you need any more info i will try to help.
cheers paul
MDBinaWagon 04 April 2004, 13:37 At that price, I'd be interested.
I was looking at the Godspeed conversion for the existing calipers, but I think I can stretch a bit (plus I may make a bit of the difference back selling the old calipers here :) ).
Martin.
silverstrike 04 April 2004, 14:23 Keigo YHM mate ;)
Keigo 04 April 2004, 14:55 Thanks Silverstrike

Keigo 04 April 2004, 23:11 OK, I'll speak to Red Dot. Just to start the ball rolling, let's start a list of those interested. Put your name down once you are positive you want in.
1) Keigo
Bullring 04 April 2004, 23:59 Noticed on the Brembo web site they do black, red or silver calipers (the Gran Turismo system). Any chance of black? Or is it red only? (Not a definite order BTW)
Rich
MDBinaWagon 05 April 2004, 09:14 1) Keigo
2) MDBinaWagon (if you can do it for £750)
Martin.
blacky555uk 05 April 2004, 12:09 Might be interested when you have firm prices.
Does the 320mm kit fit under 16" or only 17"??
Cheers
Logan
Keigo 05 April 2004, 12:21 An update - Ian at Godspeed has offered us £75 off for 5 people, and £100 off for 10 people or more.
Standard price, including Pair of red Brembo four pot calipers, Godspeed discs and alloy bells, Godspeed alloy mounting brackets and all hardware, Ferodo DS2000 pads, and Pair of braided hoses
308mm - £750
325mm - £850
335mm - £950
So with 5 people, we are looking at
308mm - £675
325mm - £775
335mm - £875
But ideally, we are aiming for:
308mm - £650
325mm - £750
335mm - £850
So come on, peeps. Get your wallet out. It's one heck of a deal
Houghton 05 April 2004, 12:33 FYI here's the last g/b for Brembo interesting reading + pix

Ian Godney 05 April 2004, 17:04 Just a quicky , the 320mm discs are actually 325mm
Big Sky WRX 06 April 2004, 03:49 I'd be interested in the 308 kit, can someone provide a link to the kit? Curious what caliper (piston diameters, caliper design etc) is included in the kit.
Are the rotors 28mm thick?
Also any chance of black calipers (like the subdued look)
Thanks
Mike
Keigo 06 April 2004, 12:11 Anyone else interested?
MDBinaWagon 06 April 2004, 12:42 If you can get 10 people, I'd be interested in the 320mm kit at £750.
Martin.
Keigo 06 April 2004, 12:47 1. Keigo 325mm
2. blacky555uk ?
3. FLAT ERIC 325mm
4. silverstrike ?
5. MDBinaWagon - 325mm
Anyone else ? £75 off for 5 kits or £100 off for 10 kits.
greg.g 06 April 2004, 20:39 Keigo
You can check out my brembo kit from the last group buy tomorrow if you want too.
It was money well spent:)
Just out of interest, have you tried to contact red dot for a group buy price.
Logan, the 320mm kit needs a 17 rim or larger.
We also got a choice of colour in the last group buy.
Hope this helps

Big Sky WRX 07 April 2004, 03:55 I might have missed it originally, do all five kits ahve to be the same ie 325mm or is it five (or ten) kits regardless which ones?
325mm won't fit my stable of 16" wheels, the 308 would.
Thanks
Mike
Ian Godney 07 April 2004, 07:46 It can be a mix of any size
To note - If anyone has the speedline chrono wheels that the standard subaru four pot set up wont fit under , our 308mm and 325mm brembo kits will fit behind this wheel
Keigo 07 April 2004, 09:57 Thanks Ian, for the update info. Come on, people, we are half way there for £100 saving!!!
Big Sky WRX 07 April 2004, 15:15 It can be a mix of any size
To note - If anyone has the speedline chrono wheels that the standard subaru four pot set up wont fit under , our 308mm and 325mm brembo kits will fit behind this wheel
Safe to also say then that any wheel that will clear the oem four pots will clear the 308mm kit?
What about some of the common 15X7 rally wheels?
TIA
Mike
Ian Godney 07 April 2004, 16:19 15" comp MO's , Raceline and speedline 15" wheels will clear the brembo 308mm kits , the 325mm kits will fit the same range of wheels in 16"
SPLITTER 07 April 2004, 22:40 soundsgreat but ive just done my money on the gems upgrade
is there a kit for the rears available as well?
blacky555uk 08 April 2004, 12:43 I will have to give this a miss...funds are not good :(
gothinducky 08 April 2004, 12:52 Keigo,
Did you manage to get a price from Red Dot for a 10+ group buy on their Brembo kit? I quite like the look of the Silver calipers......
