AsifScoob 30 April 2004, 11:31 Does anyone know if there is a specific delivery window for these?
Got someone (the Mother in Law) waiting at home for them, but hoping not to keep her there all day (if you know what I mean?)
Thanks in advance.
Asif

scooby-jay 03 May 2004, 20:41 ANY MORE PICS OF SETS FITTED TO THE CARS???
STEVE GT40 04 May 2004, 01:11 Pleased to see you group buyers are getting your kits. However it seems to be at my expense! 28th Feb I ordered and paid for a brake kit which I wanted to fit to my GT40/Ford Granada uprights. I have still not recieved anything from Ian and he's not even had the decency to reply to my numerous messages left on his answerphone. He did say that he posted them out- but that was a week before Easter and the last time I spoke to him he was looking into it, although worryingly he could not give me the Nightfreight consignment number so I could check it out for myself! If any forum users know Ian or are able to get in touch with him perhaps they could try to help me find out what is happening for me. I hate to say it but from where I stand at the moment I seem to be in danger of losing my money!
bigsinky 04 May 2004, 13:24 GT40,
You should have no problems with Ian and I am sure that there is a genuine reason he has been unable to contact you. his email access has been down for a while. he frequents this board but i will let him answer for himself.
cheers

STEVE GT40 04 May 2004, 22:36 Thanks for that big sinky. Ian has e'mailed me that my kit should be sent out by the end of the week. Will certainly post a positive response when I get them.

Anyone else still waiting on their Brembos?

cheers
big sinky
AsifScoob 06 May 2004, 22:16 Asif , Your kit is going out tomorrow and will be with you friday.
Cheers Ian
After having someone wait in all day last Friday, then phoning a few times over the weekend to find out what was going on, I heard nothing until Monday when I received a slightly snotty phone call from Ian Godney complaining that the 3 or so messages I had left had helped to fill up his message system, therefore probably costing him business!
I mean, how dare I call and inquire as to the whereabouts of my brakes that I was told to expect on Friday??
Before he had gone off to enjoy himself rallying for 3 days a quick phone call, or post, or email, or something to say "Don't expect to receive the brakes on Friday" would not have gone amiss.
I posted earlier to say I didn't mind waiting for them, but what I did want to know is when they were coming as I would have to arrange something.
I did try, very politely, to explain this all to IG, but not a hint of apology from him. He finally conceded that "We must have got our wires crossed". How generous of him?
Anyway, they came yesterday, look very nice and I will get them fitted on Tuesday - barring disaster.
I am sure I will be very pleased with them. As for IG, he needs to chill out and get a bigger answering machine!

vinnieWRX 07 May 2004, 18:36 hello everyone i have received my kit they look the dogs ,i sent ian a email got reply ,he said will send tonight or tomorrow and will have the next day and they arrived as he said ,there is no complaint from me cheers ian.
Johnny50 07 May 2004, 21:51 Got an email from Ian this morning, my kit is due middle/end of next week.
No complaints from me ! :)
I believe Ian is running behind on making the Brembo kits, he asked me to 'show a little more patience' in a recent slightly offhand email, I guess he's a little harrassed right now! For every Scooby kit that gets added, mine gets put to the back of the queue, but the GB closed at the end of April didn't it? I think most folks should have their kit by the end of next week - hopefully. :D
Scooby Singh 08 May 2004, 17:35 Am I too late for this??? Its the second one ive missed!!!
FLAT ERIC 08 May 2004, 20:23 Ian has a further problem in that he has been blocked from answering your questions directly on here. :(
Any further questions or input will have to be done directly to his e-mail address.
http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/
Can we be enlightened as to why he has been blocked?
As far as I am aware he has not advertised his wares nor instigated any pushing of his products within this thread.
All he has done is answer peoples unprompted questions in a passive manner.
Mark.
AsifScoob 08 May 2004, 20:45 Mark,
FWIW I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. I was not intending to have a go at IG in my previous post, simply to state what has happened to me, in as matter of fact way as I could manage.
IG has since emailed me, as he can read this thread, just cant respond to it. I would copy and paste it so all could read it for themselves but suspect that I would be in contravention of SN guidelines.
Basically he apologised and explained some of the things that had happened to him last weekend, which, in fairness, would be enough to upset anyone. I understand those things and accept them. All I would ask is for the same in return. Putting youself in someone else's shoes has got to work both ways.
He explained why he has been banned and it is unfortunate. However that is something betwen him and SN.
FWIW, I hope it gets sorted and he is back on Scoobynet. He does appear to have many more satisfied customers than unsatisfied ones. Without this reputation, I, like many more here would not deal with him.
I hope this redresses the balance.

bigsinky 10 May 2004, 00:23 Ian emailed me to say that scoobynet saw his replies as advertising and wanted him to cough up a load of money to get his account reinstated. i would have just changed my user name and came back on again. yes Ian has a business, yes he is out to make a profit, i can't see how his replying to our questions can be construed as advertising. IMHO Ian has helped a helluva lot of ppls on scoobynet without recommending any of his goods, and if us scooby owners can help him as a way of thank you for his help and advice then fair play i say. but to get asked for a load of money and getting banned totally sucks. sorry scoobynet admins but i think you got it wrong this time.
cheers

STEVE GT40 10 May 2004, 08:20 Helping Ian out is fine if you are happy with his service. I have been waiting more than ten weeks now and obviously don't feel quite so kindly towards Ian as others might. He has told me that my set of brakes would be finished at the end of last week, as I said in my last post. Well its Monday and I am expecting a parcel from Ian today, and I havn't been contacted to say it won't. Will let you know if it arrives.
Steve
AsifScoob 11 May 2004, 22:53 FYI
Got my kit fitted today and it looks fab, even the Wife was impressed. Thank you for that IG. Further, thanks to Angie at AnG who sorted me out very nicely.
Fitted the new kits to the front, new pads on the rear, gave it a full (big) service, took plenty of time to get it all spot on, all for considerably less than it would have cost at the dealer.
Car feels fantastic already (I am still taking it easy) The combination of fantastic new brakes plus a bit more power and response as a result of a good service makes it feel awesome compared to before.
Woo hoo!
Asif
Johnny50 12 May 2004, 07:46 Nice one Asif.
