I would like to hear from anyone who can give some feedback on these havng had them fitted.

I have heard nothing but praise for them from iain litchfield, but of course before any purchase I would like to canvass as many views as possible.

I heard nothing but praise for them too, but that was from powerstation themselves. All i can say is that i held one of the struts when i was last there and the engineering of the product is 10/10, a real quality piece of kit.

Likewise I have seen / held them and they look very good. As fitted to the T-25.

Obviously Powerstation were singing there praises but I gather they have done alot of work with AST getting these just right for UK driving. Having had the bumpsteer mod done by them, with extensive explanation, I would tend to say what they don't know about Impreza handling and set up probably isn't worth knowing. :)

as said above I am so impressed with what powerstation did to my handleing I would trust them, just need the money first :)

You know you want to ;) I am SO impressed with them on the Type 25, fitting them to a 22b will transform it. Not only will you have BMW/Porsche ride quality it is also quieter and will have more grip :D

having spoken with iain at length about this, the answer is yes, it is the same suspension as on their white car.

Well I'm sick of bouncing down the road :( so I've just ordered a set for my 22b :)

well I have just been speaking at length with darren (dc911) who just bought the test type 25, and he is so impressed with the car and by the sounds of it particularly the suspension, that I am almost certain that i will be ordering some of this lot.

But my car is due for a hike to over 500bhp and I am no suspension guru. So, do I put the shocks on before or after the power hike?

the reviews from everyone including journalists who have driven the type 25 seem to give so much praise to the set up, that I am dead keen to try to achieve the same on mine.

Well my kit arrived today. You get 4 strut legs with helper and main springs. Adjustment for the bump/rebound is via a knob on the top of units. And yes that price does not include fitting.

Nice looking kit :) Can't wait to get it fitted and feel the difference.

It looks pretty close up, but I don't see any remote adjustment dials, so wonder where they will fit.

The small orange (anodised) knobs on the very top of the assemblies are the adjustment knobs. Easy to turn by hand.

Also, is there a way of knowing which setting you have them on, ie. are there markings on the shocks?


i presume you have been out in the white sti 3 equipped with these. What are your impressions of the set up when fitted to a classic, because all other reviews are based on type 25s and sti 8s.

Driving is much better than original (Classic shape MY00, Euro type), after last weekend spending on the Nurburgring I think I can not find anything better suspension related for my car !!!

I don't know about the actual knob positions or whether they are marked in anyway. I do know they have a positive "click" feel to them but that is all I know. Have a word with Rich or Dirk at PS.

I've driven the PS STi3 throughout it's development over the years. The difference between the Bilstein PSS9's (with custom rated springs) and the ASTs is day and night. Makes the car totally different to drive and feels especially planted in all cases/attitudes/phases of cornering. They actually gave me the confidence to push the car a little more (than I should). Even over those horrible bumps in the blind left hander uphill on the A40 out of Cheltenham, you feel totally in control of the car which is a first for just about any car up there.

I'm no expert when it comes to driving, but I do know what makes me feel safe (to push on), and what puts a smile on my face. The ASTs did both.

I obviously haven't done extensive testing, I don't even have a Scoob, but I would recommend these on what little experience I've had of them, their excellent build quality and their great price.

Of course, Litcho thinks they are good enough for his T25, so that should give you some confidence. ;)

Also, I got taken out in the STi 3 just before Christmas and I was blown away by the performance. I have an STi 5 Type R and the STi 3 felt so much more compliant, to get to the "test track" we had to go via a housing estate, and the STi 3 just soaked up the speed bumps. Rich didn't even need to slow down for them.

The blast through the lanes was wet, but the car had soooo much grip it was scary, it just kept hanging on at ridiculous speeds.

I don't know how Powerstation have done it, but it is real Jekyl and Hide suspension. Soft over the bumps, but very little roll with bags of grip when pushing on.

Should be great in a 2 door with the extra ridigity - I am going to get some, just got to pay for my holidays first ;)

Anyone else think I should put the 600bhp engine before the suspension? personally I would rather have the suspension helping me control the power.

does anyone know if its possible to fit them to a classic without the rear adjustament extenssions going through the rear seat?

I am not keen on having any mods done to my seats as they are irreplacable?

Is it possible yet more awkward to reach the adjustment knobs where they are without making holes in the top of the back of the rear seat? for example by removing the seat each time or reaching p awkwardly from inside the boot?

I would rather than or perhaps fit choose and forget.

I did in my MY00 classic.
When installign the struts, remove the rear shelf and cut the sides of, just enough to put your hand trough.
Almost invisible because the rear headrests cover this up..
