Hello all I am from the NASIOC (I-club) across the pond in America and was wondering if anyone can answer this. I have asked JayUK who post occasionally on our board and he believes it is from one fo the older Legacy 2.0L turbo's. The engine is a "Quad" cam and has a VF8 spec turbo (Looks like its that). Any help would be appreciated on this
as well as any places on the web that may sell some replacement parts for the water to air IC.
Thanks,
Rich

EJ20 engine with water cooled intercooler is definately Legacy Turbo (93my-96my).

I used to own one.

Apparently the water/air intercooler is much more efficient than the air/air one on Impreza's, just more expensive to make, due to the pipes, pump & rad required.

I believe MRT Australian website sell a few parts for the Legacy Turbo.

(also known as Liberty RS in USA & other countries)

The Legacy engine is VERY similar to early Impreza engines, apart from the tappet system. The Legacy hydraulic tappets had a habit of draining down and rattling, the Impreza version had larger diameter tappets with more oil in them to stop this happening.

Later Impreza engines went to solid lifters.

Still a stonking engine though, loads of torque due to the large turbo!!

Hope this helps.......
