i want to become a plus member, but i dont have paypal, is there any other options for payment, because there seems to be only the paypal option available, working in a bank i know that paypal is at best poor. and will not use it!

let's not get carried away. Can you substantiate those claims? Do you have proof that they use out of date encryption? Do you know the percentage that you will pay when paying for scoobynet plus membership, or any other subscription on scoobynet. You will be zero percent. We pay everything.

I believe they are now the most common form of internet payment. So whilst you may not use them, you are clearly in the minority by a long way.

I've been using paypal for over a year now, and never had any problems with the service, and I've neither heard of any fraudulent use of pay pal as of yet.
pay pal does charge a small percentage for their service, but it is a company and it's there to make money. Having said that, a few places I've been to and I've used my credit card, I was charged a small fee, so it's not only Pay Pal.

I paid you 25quid for membership now you tell me how much you actually received after you got it from paypal! i guarantee it is substantially less than if I had sent you a cheque.

I can substantiate my claim but I will need a few days to do it if you want.

Cheeseboy spoke to them directly when he used them to receive payment for stuff when he got less than he expected.

I will ask him for the email they sent him explainin their exchange rates.

Unfortunately, by the time we've paid for the admin of sorting the cheques out, it would cost us more than using paypal.

It also saves you time, and in many people's case, therefore money.

Paypal doesn't bounce. And if it does, it's an automatic thing, so no admin hassles. It logs all transactions automatically, so no admin for accounts / tax, etc.

It's basically hassle free, and the fee is very small (can't remember exactly what it is now to be honest).

OK. What is the benefit. Nobody is stupid enough to think that Egg have done this out of the goodness of their heart. Nobody has a problem with people / companies earning money out of a service, but I for one get very nervous hearing you say that a company the size of Egg doesn't earn any money out of it.

Shame. I would very much like to hear from you if and when you start to use this function though. Also the ability for us to add a "pay online" button which automatically forwards to a payment page.
