Im thinking of mounting the KL & LL in the 2 air vents under the centre glovebox, has anyone done this,if so how did you secure the units?

Any pics would be a great help

Have you seen last months Jap Performance magazine. Harvey looks to have done the same thing on his Wagon.

Just a quickie.

Received my knocklink in the post today.

What route are you guys using to get the cable from the dash into the engine bay ?

I put pics of my install on my website (http://stefanostadal.homedns.org/car_mods_gauges.htm).

Route I took was through the grommet under the brake fluid resevoir. Other option is the grommet at the bottom of the passenger footwell.

I hoping to stealth mount mine, i.e. remove the LEDs and mount them in the dash then hide the ugly boxes behind the trim somewhere. Most people seem to put the Knocklink LEDs in the plastic trim surrounding the instruments. Easy to spot any activity on it then.

I was thinking that I would mount the Lambda Link LEDs somewhere in the centre console. Kind of settled on the bit just below the small glove box in the centre (above the vents). That way if I get some guages later it will be directly below these. I don't want the LambdaLink directly in my line of sight whilst driving as I understand that the LEDs flick on and off quite a bit on cruise.

See here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=308021 for more inspiration.

I decided to opt for this type of install. All LEDs are clearly visible and still looks quite stealthy :D and they still work as air vents too.

Apologies for the crap pic

scooby-tc, interesting install. I'm doing mine next week, and might try this out for myself.

How much airflow do you still get through the vents ?

Obviously the air flow is restricted but theres still a decent flow.Luckily the side vents give enough air to the cabin.I mainly use my venting system on the windscreen so its not an issue
