View Full Version : SMACS meet sunday 21st march
We've had a bit of a low turnout lately on our runs, with the exception being the run out across strines moor with the south yorkshire crew, excellent run :) .
So, to give you a few days notice for this sunday, here is the alert.
I always seem to be the one organising the routes lately as well, so it would be nice if someone else could come up with one:( .
Not just SMACS members either, all are welcome, so come on down to the hare and hounds in otterspool for 7pm on sunday evening, all you need is a scooby.

supertouring 17 March 2004, 17:36 Happy to come up with a route, so long as you all don't mind the odd dead end!
I know one or two good roads which we have not tried, and I think as Willy wants to try the Wilmslow tunnel, we can head over that way for a change. I'll also spot a good pub for our return run.
cheers super, sounds good to me, hopefully if this weather keeps up, it will be a nice evening.
see you then.
chris.

SUPERTOURING
Andy S. 18 March 2004, 10:06 Cant do Sunday night as its mothers day and will be a my mums with the kiddies for tea!
Always the same too bloody busy..:D
supertouring 18 March 2004, 10:53 Sorted a route last night, but not found an end pub yet. Would have been better but there are some road closures at 8.00pm on one section so we will have to miss that bit out. Even has a Shell station at the half way point.
All I need to do now is sort out a pub for the lubrication stop.
willy 18 March 2004, 10:55 I`ll work on a route for the next one after this,
Ive just been busy with solicitors etc(moving house).
I`m in work on Sunday... I finish @7....I`ll be in Trafford park, so I could maybe meet you somewhere?
Willy
supertouring 18 March 2004, 12:01 I have just been informed that Sunday may be a problem for me also. Looks like I cannot come out to play till 8pm at the earliest.
willy 18 March 2004, 12:11 Are we better leaving more notice...
Say organising it for the week after???
Give everyone more notice to put plans in place/excuses to other halves etc?
Just a thought???
Willy
I dont see a problem with an 8pm start super, and that would suit willy too by the sounds of it. Is that any good for you andy, a later start?
the week after is the WHEETON ARMY BARRACKS RALLY MULTIUSE EVENT, near blackpool, and I'm working in the evening too! so no chance to come out to play then.
Im happy to meet around 8pm where ever, then take it from there, get back around 10-11 pm ish no problem.
chris.
sillysi 18 March 2004, 16:12 Hi chaps, might join you for this one but it all depends on Peter @ Prosport. P1 is in for it's first MOT on Saturday and I think she is running marginal on front and rear discs.
Mad Scientist 18 March 2004, 17:28 I'll be along I should think.
Si, have you seen the notice about Evo wanting a P1 WR? Get yours in there......it is the WR isn't it?
Have you seen the stink i've kicked up in general.....thread about R5 turbo versus the Sub???
Some people seem to have got offended......it was only a laugh!!
I wouldn't drive dangerously on the road.
;)
Not on purpose anyway
sillysi 18 March 2004, 17:40 Yea it is a WR but someone beat me to it.
I enjoy reading post like yours, the way some people get wound up is great :)
Andy S. 18 March 2004, 19:32 Might be able to make 8.00 will have to talk nicely to Sue!
blitzboy1 19 March 2004, 01:15 Hi all! I'll be up for the meet on sunday, i'll tell u all bout my little business ventua lol (property).
No scooby turbo for me for a while :(.
Blitz.
NWMark 19 March 2004, 13:00 Can i come, i dont have a scoob but do enjoy a good drive :)
And its always good to throw another car make into the mix!! especially one with similar power and 4WD.
thanks
Mark
sillysi 19 March 2004, 13:02 Hi Mark,
You had better tell us what you drive first, if it's a 1000BHP Skyliner then you can go and play on your own :)
Si.
NWMark 19 March 2004, 13:05 I said similar power :)
If your all running 1000bhp i think after about 10 secs i would be playing on my own :(
Audi S3??
Mark
p.s. okay its not proper 4WD but its better than 2 :)
supertouring 19 March 2004, 13:07 So long as it is not a R5 Turbo, I think you should be OK. Would be good to have some more new faces.
willy 19 March 2004, 13:10 8.00 pm Sunday is fine with me gents...
Looks like a better turn out?
Willy
Mad Scientist 19 March 2004, 13:57 NW Mark.................we don't take to surprises that well!
I say the more the merrier.............but you have to tell us what car we'll be overtaking!
;)
:D Looks like we'll be having a bit of a good turnout on sunday then eh?
Glad to see you all making an effort :)
I'm off sick at the mo', but should be ok for sunday, lots of rest and NFS UNDERGROUND on the GAMECUBE should do it ;).

Hope the route is a good un dai? do we get a copy of it, or are we all having to follow you?
see you sunday,
chris.
NWMark 19 March 2004, 14:28 My car is a 210bhp Audi S3 with revo chip.
So should be putting out around 250-260 bhp, which it bloody well needs due to the weight of the thing 1485kg, without driver and fluids :-(
can someone PM exact location details of the meet.
thanks
Mark
Mad Scientist 19 March 2004, 15:04 How "sick" are you Chris?
I only ask as i'm off for a blast about in about 30 mins!!!!
It might make you feel better!
Text me if you're up to it.
supertouring 19 March 2004, 22:35 In true SMACS traditions, it will be totally blind (except for me obviously!). Or rather - I can't be arsed printing maps. Radios required I feel.
Its now all in the Sat Nav, so there will be no problems (PMSL at that one!)
Dead end anyone?
sillysi 19 March 2004, 23:22 [QUOTE=cw42]
sillysi (brakes are for sissys si!)
/QUOTE]
Says he who has just upgraded to Fiesta pads ;)
Andy S. 19 March 2004, 23:22 Plenty of reversing then super!!!!!!
LOL
Next door neighbour has got an S3, and I nearly bought a RS4 before the scoob but decided it was tooo much money!
Andy S. 19 March 2004, 23:24 good one Si, I warned him about EBC as well!!!!!!
CW = Fiesta man!
LOL
supertouring 19 March 2004, 23:52 RS4 is massively expensive, but 450BHP? Nice:D I would love one.
supertouring 19 March 2004, 23:53 <quote>Plenty of reversing?</quote>
Oh Yes.
sorry I missed you pete, next time m8.
whats all this about fiesta brakes??
these new compound ebc red stuff pads and ebc discs are just about bedded in now, and are performing admirably :)
well chuffed with the performance so far, much quicker into bends, scrubbing off big speed going downhill, and once warm, very good feel.
crap from cold though, which is always an eye opener where I live! at the top of the hill.
NWMARK, if noone has pm'd you, we meet here (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?X=394000&Y=389000&width=700&height=400&client=public&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&scale=25000&advanced=&multimap.x=310&multimap.y=179) on dooley lane. If you pull out on the map, you can see a PH, public house, that is the car park we use.
My moby is 07792969577, text me if you get in any difficulties finding it on sunday.
where are you coming from by the way?
chris.
