I've heard from very reliable source that the Renault garage at Wallisdown has been granted the new Subaru franchise.

New ones have also been issued in Exeter.

I'll keep you posted as I find out more

Ron - just noticed you're not a paid up member of the SN backstage bandit access all areas (etc etc) club!

Might pop down and get some side protectors :) Just doing it up before Rich buys it back and I go for a 22B :)

No, just a standard WR Blue WRX. A WR1 is due early April !

The dealerships phone number is 01202 538500.
Please read my post in "Dealers / Third party" reference facilities etc !

That renault garage is MEGA expensive for repairs. When I crashed my old escort they quoted over 2k for the repair when I got it done up the road for £469 all in! Day light robbers they are :)

Carl,

Do you have an association with the garage? Noticed most of your posts are related to it.

Groan, just had the new franchise letter through the door...

The leaflet shows a Legacy Sports Tourer, but has a picture of an Outback above it...

Nice to see that Olympian don't know the difference between the two, attention to detail and all that.

I really want Olympian to do a good job because driving to Simpsons in Swindon is a pain in the ass every 2 months, but I'm not entirely optimistic.

Hopefully John from Chapelgate could re-appear as service manager, anybody still in touch with him now ?

Carl,

If you listen to your what your customers tell you, don't call everything a 'characteristic of the vehicle' and don't try to service 100 cars a week then you should be fine.

I have to say that I was orginally attracted to Subaru because of the 'legendary reliability', excellent customer service and the JD Power cobblers, but have as yet found few of these qualities.

Anyway, I'll be in for a 10,000 service on my new Leggy in about 3 weeks, so prove your metal and find out what Subaru UK plan to do about the drivers seat rubbing against the center console and making that squeaky noise. ;)

That's my only gripe so far in 7000 miles, except why the fook Subaru UK don't do the GT over here (2.5 turbo). :(

Me taps pipe in John's direction. ;)

That bloody Forester STi keeps looking at me, if David Hendry has one I could be very, very tempted to run a 2nd car. ;)

As you all know, the dealership is new to Subaru so they are just finding their feet and working out the IM systems.
Why not cut the place some slack. Give them chance to get sorted and then critcise in the future if things aren't up to the standards you want or expect !
Or why not offer some constructive comments, so that they can live up to the expectations you have !!

BTW - I may work for them, but I am a complete petrolhead and can usually be found on UK-MKiVS (http://www.uk-mkivs.net) where you will find me talking about my Golf R32

Flame me for my comments if you want, but the comments so far aren't exactly encouraging !

Goon, ive never seen that before  got any more pics? I could be tempted by one, if I come into large amounts of cash... ;)

Carl,

I think you will inherit some pissed off customers from previous dealers seriously bad customer service. If you ensure everything is tip top, im sure it will work out fine. I found Chappelgate ok, but only because I knew John Piper from before then, and the workshop manager, through a work mate. Sparshats were really bad, and most here have found that a common theme of southern dealers.

People do expect a lot from the days where Subaru won the JD Survey etc... I think you should also point the workshop guys onto the techincal forums on here, every one ive encountered wouldn't have a clue how to diagnose a MAF or 02 fault on a Select Monitor....

Other stuff like the car not being washed after a service, not being able to book in for 5-6 weeks, dealers being miserable / not interested etc... I remember Rich saying he went to Chapplegate and they weren't interested in letting him have a go in an STi, so he imported one. They wouldn't match another dealers price, so goon bought an STi eleswhere etc...

Not having a whinge but just some history for you.

Im not fussed anyway, as I dont imagine you'd service a JDM STi ;) :D I do need some side protector strips and a DIN stereo pocket though ;)

BTW,

Apologies if we all come across a bit moody, we're not really :) Bring an STi along to a meet to cheer us up!

Mark, we are hoping to come along to the April meet at the Horton Inn - we are hoping our WR1 will be here by then - if not it will be a "std" WRX this month and the WR1 next :D :D

BTW - apology accepted ;)
