Unhappy

I have recently been hearing a kind of scraping noise coming from the brakes, could this be the pads? I have done 9,700 miles is this not enough! I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

The standard pads in my first Impreza lasted only as far as the the first annual service, by which time the car had covered only 8k miles! Discs were virtually unmarked though.

I've used the Mintex pads in my 2nd Impreza since new, and they lasted 17k miles before replacement, despite some harder use from time to time. The discs were noticably worn, having a few mm lip around the outside, so I replaced them at the same time (thanks Neil )
