Default Subaru Stereo into Golf MkIII

Will a std Scoob classic Stereo (from a MY2000) fit in a Mk3 Golf ?

The connectors look the same on the back, and I know the earlier golfs (or some of them) where fitted with Philips Stereos before they changed them

Thumbs up

Can't see any reason why it wouldn't fit if you say that you've already looked at the wiring connector and it appears to be the same. Head units are a standard size - either single DIN (normal size) or double-DIN (double height). Everything else should work OK. I assume that you're talking about a stereo from a UK Impreza? If the head unit is from a Jap model, bear in mind that you'll need an adaptor to make the radio bandwidth suitable for UK radio station frequencies.

Yep its a std UK stereo & CD Changer

Im sure the early Golfs used the philips (and same connectors too) and in my Mums Megane the stereo is identical to a Subaru one, cept it says Philips and not subaru

Ill give it a go in the morning (too late/cold & snowing at the moment )

Yes it is a plug 'n play. I stuck my old Philips HU and changer from my Scooby into my MKIII GTi when I sold her.
