Last year I changed all the front bushes in my 93 WRX because they were rattling/loose. I have had no problems with them at all. Suddenly I have noticed that there is a rattle from the front but it seems to occur when cornering fairly hard, ie when one corner is under load. I have had the car up on ramps to see if I could locate anything loose or broken but to no avail. Everything is tight and there is no play aparant in any bushes. Can anyone suggest anything else to check as i'm baffled by this. Thanks in advance. Mark

Mark,
I'm not a suspension expert, but am wondering if it could be worn strutt top mounts (bushes)or a dislocated spring.
Just a couple of thoughts.

Check that you haven't lost an anti roll bar bush.
These should be cable tied in place, around the metal cup that houses them.

Thanks for the replies. Sith: I changed the top mounts for groupN items last year. I have checked them and they appear fine.
Pete: The ARB bushes are in place and are tight fitting. They were the first things I checked cos I know what they're like!
I was wondering if it could possibly be play in the steering rack. When jacked up there is a tiny amount of play when the wheel is pulled from side to side (its not the wheel bearing). The car doesn't feel any different when driving but with all the tiny bumps on the roads up here its driving me mad!!!

I had an anoying squeek - turned out to be that the rear uprated anti roll bar had come loose at one end.
Thought I was getting too much roll http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
