please help me - i have recently been given planning permission for a single story extension, the work has not yet started but i am thinking of making that single into a double extension - therefore will i need to get new plans drawn up or will the same ones be amended?? also how long would this take..?
(original plans took me 8 weks to get them approved)
Cheers

You'd need nearly all new plans, a couple of them might be usable, but you'd also have to re-apply, I'd go with what you've got, and then a few years down the line go up a floor, make sure you do good footings though to allow for it!

Cheers Ron,
thats what i have decided to do - re the footings the ground in our area is not to clever so i have had to get a raft foundation done so they will be digging atleast 6ft anyway - had a word with the builder and he said it should be ok to build on in the future.
Once again - Thanks

A standard depth and width of footing will support anything up to 3 storeys
Assuming the bearing is good a minimum depth of 750mm dig to to top of footing and a 9 inch footing usually does the trick .
Yes your drawings will have to be redone and resubmitted
