Will our scoobies grow old gracefully???
Judging by the increase in number of very low, blacked out, booming Impreza's around here it's only going to be a short time before you are all tarnished with the same brush, just like us Cossie owners. Sad but true
The "nicest" one is an early WRX 5-door in silver, literally blacked out (you virtually cannot see through the windows even up close) with a massive Subaru badge graphic plastered down both sides. Which spends all night cruising the town with it's beats pumping.

Hmm, interesting points.
Why IS it that, generally speaking, Integrales and Quattros have escaped?
Could it be that the prices of decent once never really dropped that much, therefore making it inaccessible to Mr Mac Fan? If so, I think the reason for the prices remaining high was that their manufcaturers were unable to produce successors of a similar standard. So the only chance we have is if the new Scoob turns out to be a dog. Not much chance of that, but here's hoping.
Of course if you maintain your scoob in pristine condition, someone will always pay decent money for it.
In the meantime, I'll have a cinammon doughnut please.

Anythin can happen to any car re new owners, I saw a black Lexus GS300 lowered to the floor, with totally blacked out windows pumping out some heavy bass, laughed when he grounded it out on a mini roundabout though
The exclusivity of a car, determines it's long term image!
The reason's why Quatro's and Integrales have that "still good" image, is because there are not many around, hence the keen prices etc.
The subaru will get that "MAX POWER" image sooner than some people willn like, basically because of the amount that is available.
Escort Cossies are also kept away from that "boy racer image". Simply because of the exclusiveness, hence the price - K reg's still command 14k+.
10k for a early WRX is still out of most KIDS pockets - but remember prices will keep falling!!!!!!
Shaun. (already maxed up - thinking of getting some Paddy Opkirk harnesses and two big chrome side pipes!!!!

A question I have pondered....
About 10-15 years ago my father was looking for a new car and considered a Sierra cosworth saphire. This car cost a lot of money (more than a scooby now) and was considered a reasonably exclusive performance car. Years later the cosworth has falen from grace, the car we once looked at is now probly full of more ICE than a penguin's garden and driven by dodgy max power geezer. (apologies to any RS Owners who dont deserve this)
Will our scoobies go the same way??? Other cars like the Audi Quatro and Lancia integrali have generally escaped such teatment and change of image.
So where will our cars be in years to come? In the club section of a classic car show being polished by a 55 year old bloke with a beard, or parked in the disabled spaces outside Mc Donanlds while the owner buys his 14 year old girlfriend Big Mac?
Bye....

So how do the spotty kids insure their scoob?
Mine costs an arm and a leg and I live in a low crime area, have full NCD and am 35. And I got declined by some companies cos I had a prang last year that wasn't even my fault (guy ran a red light), my first in 18 years driving.

Careful with the remarks about low, hooge exhaust, blacked out WRX's
Seriously though, I am a little embarased with the wagon, does make some stare, but hey, who cares.
If the MPK (max power krew) want to race the let them, I'll let them sail past me at 100 in a 30, they can lose thier licence or lives, I don't want to.
If they want to drool over the car, that's fine too, maybe they'll think it's crap and go back to thier nova's and leave the scoobs alone, but I doubt it.
BTW - the only beats pumping out of my wagon are the melodic sounds of Kenny Rogers, Tina Turner and Rolf Harris (well, it would be if the tape was not mashed)

Did you know that there's a brand of chicken shack in the US opened by the bearded country star called "Kenny Rogers Chickens"?
I think it's a small mercy that that tape is mashed, otherwise the MPK would probably hold your carkeys hostage until it was destroyed.
Halsi02: God only knows. Do the MPK need insurance? They're such talented drivers that a> they never have accidents and b> they're never caught...
Everyone: what's wrong with a little bit of bass, providing it's not at the wrong time in the wrong area?
