Well 14th in the power figures and 6th in the Torque figures guess who is smiling their head off.


Its interesting to see what the difference is in the RPM range of the Torque. is this something to do with the gearing in the Gearboxs.

wrt rpm - iirc the well lane rig has no input for true rpm reading - the operator simply estimates the rpm from the tacho at say 60mph and this figure is input into the system - this should be repeated for every car to reflect different gearing of each type - thus your rpm figures are 'approximate' - since torque is an expression of measured bhp calculated from 5250 rpm the torque figures you are seeing are approximated too and could be quite inaccurate if the rpm 'estimate' used is not right for the car tested. imho 'shootout' mode is best used for comparing bhp only on the day.

Palantine was really looking sweet your motor mate. Really looks different.
Did you also notice your rear passenger side wheel looks buckled when your car was being run on the rollers.

PWEBB. I will apologise for my ignorance So what you saying is the Torque figures could all be well out and that also might explain the 20lbft torque dropped by STI PAUL on his last time on the rollers. Anycase I am still pleased as to the figures mine gained on the day.

Well I am well chuffed with that....

11th and 4th, never though i'd be so high up the list on the torque figures. Whilst I doubted my 315lbs/ft a year ago and said that this could not be right, only to find that it has done exactly the same again, I am really pleased.

Interesting point to note then, I was the only one of the STI7/8's to run with the original piccy backed ECU's that Prodrive knocked out before they started with the re-mapped ones. Could this have anything to do with the torque differences seen here??

Well chuffed either way as you always wonder if over time, performance may fall off, don't know why but I was certain I was going to be under 300bhp... And for a long while, I was, whilst they were doing runs in 4th gear and bouncing my car off the rev limiter a few times... :D and only hitting 268bhp, I was getting worried i'd be going home with my tail between my legs.

I know the back left wheel is buckled but I can't get one anywhere!
My mates at www.subaruforester.com are stoked that I beat 5 impreza's ;):p

RPM at 60 can be accurately entered, you do need to use a GPS system to get it right by running on the road though, the raw data logs wheel power and drive train loss at 1 mph intervals up to 150 mph, then calcs rpm and torque from the entered figure. Just as accurate as long as the figures are correctly entered. Most tacho's and speedo's read high btw.

I've spoken to Paul about his 20lbsft drop, and there could be a number of factors. He thought his oil and plugs were due for swapping, for one.

I had a strange feeling when the RR Operater seemed to know what he was doing that they were professional (LOL)

Anycase so what if the figures are different all you need if you are trying out different RR`s then take all the figures and work out an average as to what BHP or Torque your getting.

At the end of the day everyone had a fantastic day Rich and it was so well run how can anybody make suggestions especially the people that weren`t even there.

I dont think one owner went off the rollers without a smile. Seeing what the car is potentially capable of and talking to other owners is a fun day in itself. Who cares what figures we achieved altho I am going for more torque next time and reckon RichW better becareful with that EVO or I will be biting his ankles. (LOL) P.S. Thanks RichW for the ride in the back of your EVO on the Rollers. You might find the combined weight of me and Paul was the reason your EVO said stuff holding boost. I must admit I wouldnt like to carry me or him either (LOL No offence Paul)
