Also, any idea of the details for the 28th Feb date...can't seem to find which circuit the day is being run on. I also wonder how they got on this weekend just gone - from the website it looked like a sell out - I assume they were using one of the smaller circuits due to the building works? Pbone 03 February 2004, 19:59 I`m in and its 101db Why is the db higher on the 28th considering Steve failed the noise test at 90db Pete Croney 04 February 2004, 10:15 The noise limit is no different to any other day at Bedford. RMA are being a bit economic with the truth here and if they are not offering a refund for those that fail the noise test, BEWARE. Bedford carry out two noise tests, one in the carpark before you get on track and one (at several locations) which measurers your drive by noise. The pre-event noise test is 101dB (A) at 2/3rds max rpm, 0.5m away from the tailpipe, at 45 degrees. Because there is no load on a turbo engine, passing this test is no guide to passing the trackside test. The carpark test is only designed to reduce the amount of track side failures, as each one of these flags up a Noise Event at the local council's Environment Health Dept. The trackside noise limit is 87db (A) measured 20m from the centre line of the track. If your car has struggled with noise limits before, speak to the organiser or Bedford themselves, before booking. As ever, Bedford are happy to noise test your car at lunchtime on any day. Pbone 04 February 2004, 21:45 So what is the point of doing the car park test???? Complete waste of time in my opinion as it wont guarantee you will still get on track!! T5NYW 04 February 2004, 22:12 We recently tested about 12 scoobs in Worcester ;) staticly and a driveby test :D although maybe not to acurate(but used a £3K meter). Only 8 cars passed the Static but only 3 passed the Driveby :( One who recorded the Highest static test, passed the Driveby Test :o Arron, I think a bit steep for me, about £199 for non members Tony Pbone 04 February 2004, 23:05 surely this is going to cause more confusion and lead to recent events happening all over again resulting in people being banned. As Mr. Palmer now owns most of the decent tracks it would surely jeopodise further SIDC events at these tracks. Why can they not have a db test on the car park and keep it the same for the track?
