I have decided to go for a 6" thick concrete drive. Once the concrete has dried, I want to stick small pea stones/gravel.
What sort of glue is required? or Is it best to sprinkle the gravel when the concrete is wet?
I don't want to leave loose gravel on the drive, kids kicking stones around.
I have had a qoute for in-printed concrete - £6.5k. I have seen the quality of the work, but this is out of the question (too much money)
Cheers

Never tried anything like this, so there's a bit of guesswork here...
You can get surface retarders for concrete, so you could try sprinking the pea gravel into the concrete and floating it into the fat, then apply the reatrder. The following day (or as recommended by the retarder manufaturer), you brush off the top of the concrete to expose the top layer of aggregate.

if you want them stuck to the concrete, then sprinkle them on when it is wet (probably best when it has gone of slightly). tamp a few down and then lob some more on the top and tap slightly down.

Another idea:
When the concrete is laid, can ordinary/designer slabs be laid on top.
Will they still have a risk of cracking when the car is on top?
The slabs are about 1.5" and the adheisve/cement will be applied in the same way as you would do when tiling a kitchen/bathroom.
Any other ideas for a drive with a budget of about £2k and about 80 sq metres.

Vinesh,
On a budget of £2000.00 , you will get just the concrete laid (properly) if you are not doing it yourself. As I said in your previous thread, use reinforced mesh to strengthen and to avoid possibility of cracks, also 6" thick is going to cost you a lot more than the 4" that is recommended for traffic on a driveway, but what are you using it for , will you be parking lorries on there?(petrol station forecourts usually have a strong 4" thick base, usually a C30 mix which is 1 in 3).
