To expedite orders would any of the unpolished guys consider changing to polished?
The man in H.K said it could take like 6 weeks longer to get the unpolished ones, I guess it's been maybe 4 or 5 weeks since he said that.
We will wait, at least a bit longer. A polished set will be more than 100USD more for us, since it's 100% sure that we have to pay all available duties...... :(

Been trying the tracking No during the day with no joy. I'd also sent a query to Aus Post on Sat. with no reply yet. Out of interest, I tried the original tracking No for the sea freight parcel and even that wasn't recognised.

Keep trying tomorrow.

Just about to post that nothing had happened when Aus Post came good, well good and not so good really:-

Mr Houghton
Thank you for your enquiry, this item only left yesterday, bear in mind
that this is not a Courier service where it is traceable all the way.
Anticipated delivery time is from 7 -10 working days provided that it would
not be detained in Customs over there.

The kit has arrived ! one large core, Four bits of pipe, some silicone connectors, pipe clips and brackets etc all inc. Even fitting instructions (kind of anyway)

Box looked worse for wear, but its come along way eh. Contents intact. There is a slight dent on the end of the small pipe that takes the dump valve but it shouldnt be tough to straighten it out.

Nice one Harvey.

No luck with the tracking # you gave me Harvey, but as it was only shipped today I wouldn't expect it to be on there yet.

Hacmeister: How long did it take your kit to arrive after they shipped it from Oz?

Received a phone call from Parcelforce today, to say that they have my FMIC, with a small customs charge.

I am going to collect it later this afternoon.

If people still waiting wish to send me their tracking number, then i will endeavour to check it out for them.

Thanks for all your efforts Harvey, its greatly appreciated :D

Something has just occurred to me relating to import duty. The kits have cost 708$ which in round terms is £390 so it would be reasonable to expect the VAT content of the final bill to be around £70 with a clearance fee and import duty on top. In Highlanders case he was charged £78.69 customs, £8 clearance, and £7.57 import duty making a total of £94.21. Looks like a bit of overcharge on the VAT. Maybe not significant in the overall scheme of things but does anybody have any comments to make ?

I think it left Australia on 14th, not 100% sure tho. Arrived at parcel force approx 7/8 days later.

I also had a 'duty' to pay Parcel Force. Unfortunately for me it was higher. A total of £107! Bloke at Parcel Force wouldnt let me see the box until i'd payed. Box was damaged and labelled gift.

'Duty was due to the fact that the Customs declaration certificate has $1000 shown as the value' ;so Parcel force say.....

Still a cheap intercooler, just wished the duty had been about half that much but there you go.

whatever the import duty we paid it wasn't extortionate and it makes for a very cheap intercooler!!!

I'm as happy as a dog with two dicks!
I can now start fitting that and other bits and pieces!! :D :D

Still no sign of mine yet :((

I think the import charge has VAT added after duty and clearance, just to maximise the value for Gordon's benefit. If the box is marked 'GIFT' then the customs declaration should say gift also. If there's a value stated, then that's the value they go on presumably to calculate the add ons.

If the value is US$708 why has $1,000 been entered? Was that $US, $AUS or $HK ? That would make a big difference.

Having said all that, from what I've seen of other G/Bs 25% added is about the norm.

$ Au which are about 2.34/£ at present. at the end of the day it shows what good value these kits are at present.

Ante: I think you lack manners pal. I am tired of sending you e-mails giving you the options that you have. I am not sitting around waiting for your communications to pop up. I sent you my contact details and phone numbers 23-03-04 as you requested and earlier this morning I responded to the e-mails you sent Saturday and Sunday nights (Sunday=28th). I think this is my 12th e-mail or P.M. to you.
Now shape up or pi5s right off. This morning's e-mail is the 4th time I have explained your options and you have every piece of info you could possibly need. Decide what you want to do and follow the instructions I have sent you and everything will be hunky dorry and I will look after you just as I have tried to do for everybody else.
