I am trying to wire a genuine scoob fog light switch to my imported scoob's add on fog light. I have found a diagram on the forum but this doesn't work for me. I am not sure if the switch works as when you press it in it clicks but returns to the same position. The front foglamp switch clicks in then stays lower until you click i again, the switches look the same but may be a different age. Should the switch be lower when on??
Thanks

Yes when on it should sit lower and the light in the switch should be on!

Not neccassarily!
There are two types of switches. The older one sits lower when on and belonged to MY97-98?
The newer one MY99- doesn't sit down. It also has a circuit board within the unit while the older one has basic insides.
There is a wiring diagram on the Ravenblade site, but I think it is for the old type.
I did solve the problem but cna't find what to do anymore.
Try searching Scoobymods or Scobbynet as I'm sure I got the answer there.

Thanks again buttawayfromhome. I have looked at it all again and checked the sites you mention but am getting nowhere fast, if you in anyway could perhaps check your own switch, or provide any further details that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Now then!!
Did the very same thing on my 97 wrx using a front fog switch for the rear with a sticker to cover the normal front fog part. This bit does not need to iluminate but the bulb to say the fogs are on does. All I did was find out which pins light the bulb when pressed and wire an earth and ignition feed to these, and then used the switch to provide an earth for the rear lamp that runs through the car to the rear. The positive feed was taken from the side light feed so that you can never have the fog on without the lights. Bulb fitted into reverse lamp holder with modified wiring as above. Job done.

sounds like that may be the way to go.
Or stick with the old switch!
thx

The new fog light switches have the abiltity to automatically switch off when you turn your lights off and hence are very difficult to wire up if you don't have the existing wiring.
Get an older style (OEM) mechanical type from a breakers and use the diagram from Ravensblade.

I have given up on it I am going to stick with a cheap toggle switch.
Thanks
