Anyone got any tips or product recommendations to fill in holes in walls (plasterboard) left by rawlplugs, etc?

I have been using polyfilla, but haven't got the best results. i have been using a wet filling knife to fill & smooth the filler, but after it has dried it doesn't look 100% smooth. Sanding doesn't improve the finish much!

Thinking of trying some finishing plaster next to see if this works better?

Cheers

Buy some interior filler from Focus/B&Q but don't buy the pre-mixed stuff - it dries very hard and is difficult to sand. The interior filler you need is powder you mix with water and is described as 'easy to mix', 'easy to fill' etc, once dry it sands easily and will be invisible, it may need 2 applications to be totally invisible...

yeah I agree premixed filler can be a swine to sand and clogs sanding sheets a gooden.

I found B&Q patch repair plaster to be very good. Mix it up. Use a filling knife, leave to dry then sand. The finish is very flat, its easy to apply, more creamy than filler so easier to apply. It also sand easily too.
