David will post them to you ;)

I need two replacements myself after smashing one (again) and having the other rust due to excess condensation. I've stripped them off the car and gave them a new lick of paint ready for the new lenses from David.

Group buy anyone :)

Graham Goode sell them and you can find the others from the UK Dealer list on their website (http://www.piaa.co.uk/dealers/dealers.asp)

Yeah, got us my the short 'n curlies :(

I e-mailed PIAA about the rust problem. The said they didn't know of any  then gave me the 'rubber ear' when I asked if they would replace them under warranty.

I'll ask David how the warranty stands with replacement lenses. This will be my 4th replacement lenses in as many years - would have been 6th, but Subaru replaced my first two under the original car warranty.

Where, exactly is this rust problem?
Is it the reflector, or the casing?
And does it rust from inside or out?

I used to have Cibie Super Oscars, on a rally replica Escort(:D: ) and my mate's rusted, so mine got a coat of underseal on the inside of the casing, and another on the back of the reflector.
When assembled, they were sealed with a wide band of sticky backed tape like electrician's tape round the edges of the case/reflector.

I never had any problem in 4 years.

It's difficult to say if it's inside-out or other way. Basically the PIAA's have a large metal lamp which holds in the reflector and glass.

The reflector is bonded to the glass. You first notice the rust appearing inside the glass - on the actual reflector itself. When I took mine off the reflector was all rusty along the bottom. Either because the condensation is dripping down or mositure, road salt and cr@p are getting into the reflector.

Since mine are all rusted and covered in cr@p I can't see if there is a drainage hole at the bottom of the reflector.

I'll try an post some pics this evening to explain it better.

So it could be condensation INSIDE the reflector, or water getting inside the lamp housing?

Cure for the second is to try my tips from my last post.
This is my bet for where it's coming from.

If it's INSIDE the reflector, then it's a bit harder: you might try getting hold of a couple of rubber boots from a scrappy, suitable for heradlights, then seal them on with decorator's filler, which doesn't set too hard, and can easily be pealed away if you need to change the bulb.
also try fitting bulbs into reflectors after the reflector units have been in a freezer for a couple of hours too, to eleiminate moisture, and fit the whole lot outside on a cold dry day.

Thanks alcazar... I will have a look at it when I replace the rusty/broken ones ....mine also are rusty on the reflector at the bottom edge
