Hi ,

Had some original doors dipped and stripped 4 years ago and there is this brown reddish liquid oozing out of them still, its in patches and not located to knots, the bathroom one is the worst with extra airbourne moisture and it runs down it.What can i do to them to dry this up.

Thanks Paul

..maybe put some knot sealer over the offending oozes?

have you left the doors bare?

Yes the doors are bare, i wonder if they need drying out with extreme heat, but after 4 years i would have thought they'd be dry by now.

Cheers

It's thanks to the Caustic soda they use to strip them, I don't think you'll ever stop it, I will never have anything dipped!

perhaps some oil or varnish would swell the surface and close the gaps?

I left a dipped door bare, bar a bit of oil ( bloody hell, I just invented a peter piper picked a pickled pepper thing  ) at my last house. never any problems with it.
