Tyrolean Render (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Tyrolean+render&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB) - :D

edit to say

check the blue circle link in the above page for the product...

you can hire the gadget from HSS, type roughcast into the hss site search box - I cant link to it as its one of those silly frames sites.

thanks mj :):)

at least i know what it is now !

need to work out if it's something i can do or not - can't be as difficult as plastering, and i've done a bit of that.

never done it myself so cant really comment, but it cant be that hard, you would need to get rid of any remaining loose stuff first and then polybond the wall.

fill the gadget with render point it at the wall and hey presto. :D

tyrolean isnt as easy as you think and amke sure you cover everything well;) also dont expect this patch to be unoticeable when finished, machine from hss is about £10 and a bag of silver tyrolean will set you back about £12, mix a small amount quite sloppy and put a cup full in the machine and spray the wall the repeat about 4 times till the whole patch is covered, the idea is to build up the area slowly and if you spray on too much it will run down the walls and look really bad

thanks for the advice steve,
i'll have a try at it and then paint the whole wall.
If it looks cr@p then i'll have to get a pro in.

let's hope it's not 10/10 for effort and 1/10 for presentation ! !

If your house is a recent build it should have ten years NHBC cover, if you have not got the certificate try contacting the estate developers to see if they have a copy of the certificate and cover afforded by it.

NHBC 10 year will not cover this and i recommend a decent plasterer matching up with the existing will be a very hard job best left to pro's.

house is about 15 years old, so it wouldn't count anyway.

I'll probably get a quote from a pro first, and go from there.
