I'm in the process of putting up a couple of wall lamps in our 'lobby', where there were no lights before. Because of the layout of the house there is no lighting circuit in the area that I can tap into so I have a new clean feed from the fusebox.

The two wall lamps are mounted and I have a switch - that's about as far as I've got.

Basically I need to know how to wire it all up. I'm usually pretty good at diy but I'm not really up to speed with the electrical systems.

A straightforward guide as to how it all needs connecting up would be very helpful.

Many thanks in advance!!

depends how you want to do it...

you can either switch at the 'ceiling rose' / light fitting or use a junction box, I prefer to use a junction box just so if you want to move lights etc then you dont have to piss about with all the wires...

ill draw a pic.. its easier..

use 1mm or 1.5mm T&E cable, if going on its on fuse / mcb then a 5/6A fuse.
