Does anyone have or know of anyone with any pictures or footage of this event. In particular I'm trying to find anything showing the Charade GTtis in action.

Hi Allan.

I have some good footage of both the '89 & 90 RAC rallys.

Coverage of the '89 event was very good from the BBC: I have all rally reports as shown on BBC2 on video. I remember footage of the Daihatsu, driven by Terry Kaby (who used to be co-driven by a chap I know well) if I remember rightly.

The '90 event coverage was terrible: the only BBC report being on Sportsnight a week later if memory serves correctly. I have this report, plus the review of the event from Duke Video. Again I think Kaby drove.

There is also some good Charade footage in the (I think) 1993 British series, when Scott Bradshaw campaigned the same ex-works car in the series, including some in car footage. Again I have the tape.

Yes, I was watching the British 93 championship video again this week and remember a few clips of the charade in action. I'll be watching the 92 season this weekend, so will let you know....

Worked on many a charade gtti when worked i as motor technician at a daihatsu dealership many years ago,believe i went to that years rally,looking at the photographs i've got there was plenty of snow on the ground(clumber park),do remember it being blinking cold!
sorry i haven't got any pics/footage of charade in action though

I too remember diving into a snowdrift near Chatsworth House as Louise Aitken-Walker's Cossie came thundering through, slightly sideways...

In my opinion the 1989 rally was one of the best. Certainly a lot better than anything in the last 10 years...
