Question

Hi All,

Many of you will know my '98 Sti4 Type R got a smack up the a*** a few weeks ago by 'white van man' and the insurance company have just given the greenlight to get the work done (thanks a million to Jimmy Dell on here who found me the bodyshop...I owe you one mate!)

Thing is, I reckon if I've had to go through all this grief then I may as well make a few improvements whilst it's in the bodyshop. Carbon bonnet has been ordered on the forum group buy but the rear of the car is where the real opportunity is at - I'm thinking about the MRO rear bumper - any thoughts? Also, has anyone fitted one to a 2 door before (Rob at MRO was unsure if it is the same as a 4 door bumper...if you get my drift)?

However, the real question is about the spoiler - the Sti4 wing is, well...not big enough (I've gone for a bit of a pimp theme as anyone on this list around southside of M25 will tell you...) Is the Sti5 wing any bigger or does anyone know of a nice (non tacky) rear wing that looks OEM and that fits using current holes etc? TSL et al sell later and WRC wings and I was wondering if they are any bigger?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks chaps!

Money, are you offering? Reckon a mean ***** carbon wing may just complete the look!! (after the 18" chrome rims that is!)

JoyBoyRebel - thanks for the link - site isn't working properly at the mo (will try again tomorrow). Seems also you're local to me (Missus actually works in Sevenoaks) so if you see a battered black Type R cruising through this week as I drop and collect her from her various Christmas do's - give me a flash!

Oh, and my fave rear bumper so far has to be the Bomex - I can source one but it'll take 2 or 3 weeks to come over - any one know of a U.K supplier who has one here already?

Thumbs up

The STi 6 wing is the biggest, IIRC.
I got mine from GradeA Subaru, mail order, arrived within 15 hours of being ordered, and a good product.

Wink

You could try: http://www.trading-4u.com (owner has a Scoob) or better still: http://www.www.msionline.co.uk/index2.htm (ask for Simon if you phone as he's been very helpful to me so far).

Biggest OEM rear wing is on the Electra 1 (limited/concept run of classic shape)

The 22b replica would look hot with an adjustable carbon fibre top wing to match your carbon fibre bonnet

Cheers guys.

Maybe this can help although it looks like the Scoobysport wing.
