Just a few:

This is the way I did it and it worked!
I connected it to the gearbox cable first then the Speedo cable. This is easiest as you can feel it slip in (!!).

I also turned a wheel to help it drop in, youll feel the square drive drop into the cable.

Prior to fitting a ran a hacksaw in the groove where the circlip fits. This ensured the clip got a really good grip and wouldnt drop out. The only way to do the job (at home) is to crawl under the car from the front and its just above youre head!.

I then drove the car to check the spedo worked, then back underneath and wrapped insulating tape around the clips to hold them on and prevent crud etc mashing up the job.

Hope this helps, feel free to ick my brains.

Regards

Richie
