I currently have a space heater, but Propane is expensive..

I currently have a gas pipe running to the garage which was capped off by me, erm I mean my corgi installer..

This used to run a gas fire which kept the garage warm when it was smaller..

It is now 12x34 and possibly 12ft at the peak..

Are there any smallish gas powered heaters that kick out some proper heat?? but dont cost the earth to run?

Propane costs money, dad's gas bill doesnt cost me anything ;) :D

Steven, Please dont suggest a stove!

Why dont you have a system boiler installed with a couple of rads connected, the boiler will range rate its self according to the heating demand and return temp, stick a digistat in the garage and that will give frost protection as well. Filling the system up could be done via a hose pipe and filling loop with a double check valve. We have done this for a few customers in the past, would cost you in the region of £800 but depends on how important/much you want to spend.

Id love to do something like that, but for the amount we are in there it doesnt seem too practical + the wall space issue for rads..

Its a shame you cant get space heaters that run on house / town gas..

Heres a few...
http://www.drufire.co.uk/
http://www.greenhousesupply.co.uk/heater1.html
http://www.heatershop.com/natural_gas_garage_heaters.html

The first link go to UK---programme---gas---functional---wallmounted. No prices though.

The last one is in the states, but looks quite good value.

A Gas wall heater would be a good thing.
Baxi have a good range and they are quite cheap and easy for a installer (corgi only)to fit.

Dunc...Corgi reg
