I'm looking at changing the crappy OEM fit radio to a single DIN Alpine unit.
1. Do I need to buy an adaptor lead from Subaru wiring to ISO on Alpine or whoever?
2. What do you use to fill in other DIN slot?
3. Does single DIN radio cage hold in place OK?
Thanks,
Andy.

Part No PC2-44-4 from most online ICE dealers or ICE shops
2. What do you use to fill in other DIN slot?
Check this thread (http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=267793)

Yes, the existing brackets for the 2-din stereo hold the new one and the pocket below it.
See Chiarks FAQ (http://www.chiark.com/scooby/icetoc.asp?section=5&subsection=9) on how to fit it and you should be able to get over £100 on ebay for your old one. (I got £110)
Gary.

I've been looking at this today ... dealer said silver pocket from forester is ...
66128SA000 pocket £10.00
66201SA110 bracket £5.04
66201SA100 bracket £5.04
045005143 screw x 10 £0.17
I've been debating putting a CD changer in this spare slot as well.

Well you'll certainly need....
66128SA000 pocket £10.00
But you don't need......
66201SA110 bracket £5.04
66201SA100 bracket £5.04
045005143 screw x 10 £0.17
What does the dealer think is holding in your current blooming head unit?! You already got these bits in your dash.
All you need is the forrester pocket and the Autoleads adapter.
