is there anywhere people can take their own rally cars to drive on stages, like track days, just in a forest?

That's a good question, there are rally schools of course but not heard of private "forest days".

You can certainly hire various pieces of forestry to test on but can be quite expensive. Believe you can hire a section of Dalby in Yorkshire and Tristan Dodd of PEC tyres seems to run testing in North Wales - Alwen or Legend Park or similar (from memory).

Javelin Motorsport used to run trackdays / rallydays at Binbrook which comprised of decent tarmac sections plus a loose section that the prepped rallycars could play on too. I organised a Dukeries MC trackday there so we could say thankyou to the stage commanders / marshals / service crews etc by giving them rides last year..
