Did anyone here get to drive Resolfen on Friday???

Got there early from Brechfa, arrived with loads of sensible folk who all turned round, parked the same way on the same side of the road, ready for off. Sorted.

Half an hour before stage start, presumably when car park attendants set off to get a good spot, some advantage taking wnker brought a whole line of traffic up and blocked the road.

Deap breaths.............in..........and out.....

OK, Got plenty of beer/food/fuel etc and nowhere to have to be after the stage.

Watched the 10 minutes of top cars, got let out of our 'pen' and went to get piles in the car. Waited and hour before moving a 100 metres, waited another half an hour........in.....out......

Then we were all turned round and onto the stage. Fcuk getting home, tunnel vision.

Flying along for about 15 mins before we arrived at a locked gate, which someone in the convoy barred open (nice one mate), a few flat corners later and we hit another.

Only this time the wnker that owned the gate (probably all he did own) turned up and threatened to put a bike lock on it unless we all paid him a quid to get out.

Pretended to be German and drove past him but the inbred jumped on the sidestep of my fourby. Seems his life was worth less than a quid.

Was going to see what speed he fell off at but i thought that his mate might lock those behind me in.

Were you one of those??????
Still, thinking about it i`d rather pay a pound to drive Resolfen that 10 pound to get into service!!!

Think you got done out of a quid. Nobody round resolven owns any of the land. All forestry commission owned. Where was it you exitted the stage at?

You want to drive the stage - go through the training and sign on as a marshal.

We marshaled junction 8 on Resolfen 2. Signed on at the start, drove through the stage to junction 8. Then drove out all the way to the finish (did not bother with the short cuts). All 43.09 k's in a 4x4 with MT's - excellent.

We came down the side of a hill and ended up in a little estate. Dont know what it was called.

A laugh tho

Better still, Join a club that sets the stage up and drive it all week!
I bet I have done more Rheola Miles than the top drivers!! Spent a fortune on Fuel though!!

My mate helped out marshalling at j8 while I stayed with my kids.
Drove out the stage the full remaining distance in a mondeo estate.....not recommended. Didn't bother my mate as it was company car.
Still didn't beat driving thru Rhonda in a camper van at 2 in the morning a few years ago (remember Mcrae's roll!!)

Remember Mcraes roll? I saw it..

I was stood next to two Jocs who had travelled all the way down and they didnt see him come past once. They must have been gutted

This weekend I've driven over 70 k's of 'competetive' miles on 3 stages with no problems in my road standard astra.... Trawscoed, Resolfen and Margam. However, one of my team had a puncture on Margam, then holed his sump yumping his vectra!!!

If you wanna put the WRC miles on your car, become a marshal.... just don't do what a couple of marshals did on Trawscoed and get beered up before the stage.... they nearly lost a quattro down a very steep gulley and upset a lot of people!

resolven2 was fun to drive, i swear i hit 60 on the raised straight before j6. oh come on, don`t laugh, i was in a sunny. then it was pitch black on the way out and i only had one headlight,
it was a great drive, but then i forgot about the first MONSTER SPEED BUMP going through the coliery on the way out, (ouch!).
