Does anyone know where i can get some fuel stabiliser as i'm now leaving my bike for the winter.
Last time i rode on "dry" days through the winter all the nuts/ bolts furred up and i got fed up cleaning it so i thought this year i'll leave this bike well alone.
I was told this additive stops the fuel gumming up so starting in the summer shouldn't be a problem, draining the tank/ lines will allow rust so thats not an option

I leave my bike in the garage all winter [a scotish winter] and have never put any thing in the tank and have never had any problems starting it the following year.
I do run the bike on Optimax but not sure that makes a difference for winter lay ups.

do you move the bike about so you don't get flat spots on the tyres or do as car makers do - over inflate

Try put it on a centre stand/Paddock stand, to stop all the oil going to one side of the engine.
(so I've been told)
Start mine up about once a month. Run to 100C, turn off for 20 minutes, then do again.

I over inflate the tyres a few psi. Then the first outing in the new year take the bike upto about 160mph and this reshapes the tyre.[only joking][[or am I]]

Change the oil too, just use cheap ****. Old oil eats the oil seals, so put in some cheap crap, drop some down the spark plug holes to protect the bores.
Remember to change the oil and filter before using the bike again come spring.

OH and shove an old rag in the end of your exhaust pipe...!! You would be surprised what can crawl down there over the winter months....

My storage goes as follows......
- park bike up and lock it
- come a sunny spring day start it and ride it around a bit

Put it in the back of my garage, cover with decent cover, and most importantly connect the optimate to keep the battery charged, roll out in the spring!! done this for years never had any trouble.

its best if you do change the oil for any thing as long as its clean and no preferably not cooking oil ( leaves a bad taste )!! but it will protect the internals, and get yourself a paddock stand m8 as it does help the tyres
