XTRASPEED CAMERA's in area !!!!
South Wales Area has now added another 15 mobile camera vans to its fleet for this weekend Rally Of Wales, taking the total number of mobiles to around 50 !

Why does the Welsh tourist board aim to keep the event where it is and then rip off the tourists attending the event in another???

Somewhere there is some logic in here but be dammed if I can find it.

the logic is that there is a large influx of people with money that they can catch and line their coffers - for when they decide to "promote road safety" (whenever that will be!)
I would reckon that promoting road safety will merely involve the purchase/hire of more cameras that will be positioned where they will catch most people, and not be positioned where their presence will slow people down! (a never ending circle)
And they might think it looks good for them in the papers!

Is this purely to cover the costs of running this event though?
Being as the Welsh Tourist Board also pay the bill to the FIA for the event permit" which surmounts to a nice 143,000 Euro's, compared with last years 34,000 Euro's, I suppose they have to find the money somewhere !
So back to the people who want to support the event.
They pay for tickete.
They pay to Park
they now pay to use the roads
what next??

Any way of taxing fresh air?

and back to my post about what will happen to the "superstars" that got nicked last year that havent been to court yet! I wouldnt be surprised if some of them told the organisers they wont be turning up for future events - especially if they had no championship place at stake!
