I'm doing up a house in the centre of France, and one thing that really wants doing is the electrics: at the moment, the whole house is wired through one 16A fuse, and the cable coming out of it is only 2,5 sq mm! And BOTH cables going in to it and it's neutral counterpart, are blue!
Looking at a book on French electrics, they seem to want me to use RCD's to protect all circuits, but there seem to be two types.
the first, called a "Type A" controls the hob, dishwasher, and washer. The second, called a "Type AC", controls all other circuits. Each circuit then branches off via it's own MCB.
I can't find mention as to what the difference is, if any, between the two types of RCD.
Anyone know??
Thanks, Alcazar
